Poll: 2.87 status page?

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Since I'm so sick of those damned n00bs starting new threads about the release date, I have an idea that will hopefully reduce these annoying threads, and maybe satisfy a few others. How bout a page that displays the bugs, plans, and completion of the project? It can also have a rough guestimate on when each project would be finished, or satisfactory. It could look like this:

**Bugs and stuff goes here, as well as comments about them**

**Status of _____ - __% complete**(should cover coding, models, textures, etc.)

**Plans to include in release**

**Bug and fix history (thats already taken care of)**

So, what does everyone think? Is this do-able? The INF team can give Jeremy the info, and then he can post and maintain it.

lol 1 post killed the topic :D

anyways, i personally think doing something like that extra will either hinder the project if it is expected to be updated regularly, or anger fans if not updated for long time

Well, if you are refering to this, I am stressing on the what-to-do, rather than the what's-been-done. Otherwise, what post are you referring to? And, BTW maybe it will hinder the project, but I would expect it to do somewhat well if taken in 3-4 day increments.

PERCENT COMPLETE??? YOU KNOW WHAT KINDA DISASTER THAT RESULTS IN???

It all starts flying from 0%, shoots to 50%... you see it start slowing down, and at 90% its down to a crawl. It may have taken 1 week for the first 50%, then another 2 months for the next 40%, but then its like another 2 months for just another 10%. If you've seen places like Front Line Force's completion status ****, they're really big BS there. If we wanna incorporate that, it better be something real, not just a near-halt 99.99% which can fool some ppl into thinking tomorrow, when in reality its months away...

Agreed... I never pay attention to those "% complete" things on mod sites, they're almost as bad as those "Under construction" graphics you see on people's home pages that also say "Last updated Dec. 5, 1996"... but a relatively thorough "left to do" list might help in making people understand just how much work the team has to put in... although I probably wouldn't pay any attention to such a page myself due to the whole "surprise" thing (but also the "peace of mind" thing and the "I don't believe in our modern-day concept of linear time" thing, but that's another story)...
