I'm in the long and tiring process to be enlisted in the army. I'm wondering how many of you want to do the same.

I asked for some very high jobs in the army. So I think I will not have them, but it doesn't cost anything to try isn't it ?
About that you know what ? I was forced to lie during the second meeting to correct the fact I talk often with (ex) soldier of foreing countries ! (I said that at the first meeting). If I have the job I will not be allowed to talk about anything army related !

But hey, I can understand that. You're all a bunch of spies ! LoL

I should have.

I'm the first 1st born male in my family to NOT serve in the military since before my family first came to America (2 brothers who came over on the 2nd Jamestown expedition).

But now I'm too old (almost 32).

Joining the army

Well, im going to join the army next year (well, here when you get to the age of 18 you are called to join the army for 3 years).

So now there is some process and next year i will have to chose where to serve and to do some tests...

Im hoping to get to the intiligance corps or the navy...
Most of my friends want to join the infantry or SF but that is risky and very hard so i dont think i will go there.
well iv got a year to think about it....

If I go 2 any army I want 2 be sure I become leet... I live in Holland so that blows any changes of becoming leet here :D

going 2 amerika... nehh, dont like it there... becoming seal is real cool and stuff, but they will drown u and make u alive again... thats 2 hardcore 4 me....

Why not England...they have got SAS! or maybe france and become sewer specialist!!!!

or maybe just stay home and be all of those guys at once without breaking a sweat :D

SAS training is equally tough as BUD/S training, if not tougher.

Oh yeah, getting into the US armed forces is a hell of a lot easier for immigrants. You only have to be a resident alien, citizen, refugee or Filipino to enlist. That last remark wasn't thinly veiled racism against Filipinos, there exists an agreement between the our two governments that mean citizens of the Philippines are given a special status to enlist in the US military, similar to the British recruitment of Irish soldiers.

sniper is good, but on the other side... no backup, all those days waiting 4 1 freak'n shot, so deep behind enemy lines.... sniper is good as long as u dont need 2 actually use ur training!

I'm thinking of joining the Canadian Armed Forces, my uncle was a SpecOp for us, I'm thinking of maybe becoming an, err, well, not sure yet I'm going to do in there yet, but I took a peek at some of our satandard issue weaponry, and I wouldn't mind going to battle with some of it.

i would seriously consider it, but i don't know if they canadian army is what i would want to be in. if i was american i would, but the canadian government doesn't take the best care of it's armed forces, so i'm not sure. would certainly be an interesting job:)

I'll probably join the US Navy in a year or two, mainly for the travel opprotunities. I'd really like to see something of the world. The closest I've been to a foreign country is 25 miles into Canada...

Indiana. Kill me please.
If I were to join the army it will be under 1 of 2 circumstances:

1) I join an army of revolutionaries and overthrow the existing government.

2) I join the US air force, and as soon as I get into one of those jets, bomb the capital building.

So to summerize, thats a "maybe".
