Quite an unusual mod has made its way from the Half Life 2 engine to UT2004 (and eventually to UT2007). Jurassic Rage aims to bring dinosaurs into an Invasion-like gametype, as well as an objective based gametype featuring the big lizards. Quite a few models are complete, but they've only just begun importing some of the stuff into their new engine as you can see above. Welcome to the U-Engine!

We've switched. Half-Life 2 couldn't hack the sort of things we had in mind. Cries of "we need more juice!" could be heard from our laboratories. Our local yoda suggested a new kid on the block. "Unreal 3, they call him. Some say he's a monster, but I think he's got what it takes."

Saying goodbye to Half-Life 2 wasn't pretty. She put up a fight; headcrabs, barnacles, you name it, she threw it at us. But we prevailed, and now we're going to bring you a mod of unspeakable, dinosaur-oriented entertainment.

Welcome to the "odd character vs enviroment scale engine" :)

Looks like you've already adjusted your models to make use of this unique feature of this oh so wonderful piece of software ;)

For once, a HL2 mod team is switching to the Unreal engine instead of the other way around! :D

(Still can't get Steam to work...)

Are you talking about Infiltration?
Infiltration is no longer going for Source, they will go for UE3 too. In the meantime the Infiltration mod community are actively producing new content for the existing mod such as new weapon packs, improvements on movement, maps etc. Also Insidious Creations is working on a Future-Realistic mod for Ut2k4. More info on that at www.InfModTeam.com.

I wish more would do that, Unreal looks just about as good and has a way higher framerate than Source. The only drawback would be animations and slightly better (but slower) physics engine. Unreal is much better IMO. :D

Half-Life 2 itself wasn't too bad, but the engine ins't very good.

Unless you're talking about Karma -- Unreal3 has a better physics engine than Havok2.
