Hello everyone,
My name is Mark Price, I have put together a total conversion mod called Blackened. Production begins in 4 weeks. The team will have approx. 30-70 people(modelers, enviornmental artists, etc). I am looking to give people in the developer community a chance to work on this game and get their foot into the industry. I won't go into detail here, but I have all of the details listed out on our moddb site. http://www.moddb.com/mods/blackened . We are just about to finish the pre-production phase, and would like to get you started before we even begin production! Blackened is going to be big, and going to get people jobs in "The Industry"
Check out the site, or contact me at:

Thanks!

Hi spentak,

The goals you have set for this mod are very ambitious. As with any ambitious mod, you will need to attract great talent to make it a reality. Most established modders in the community have seen a million mod proposals and there are certain red flags they watch for. Unfortunately you exhibit a few of these traits which may influence the response you get.

It might not hurt to familliarize yourself with a few of the basics:
http://www.unrealwiki.com/Legacy:Mod_Authoring/Some_Advice_To_Start_With
http://www.unrealwiki.com/Legacy:Mychaeel/Modding_Etiquette

You have claimed in your design document and elsewhere that you have significant management experience, which will increase the efficiency of development. That is a valuable and important contribution for the size of team you wish to assemble.

Can you provide an overview of your management experience? Contact information for your references would be ideal.

You indicate on ModDB that you have been modding since 1999. Can you provide details of the mod projects you have worked on, and the outcomes? Contact information would be ideal.

A lot of the talent for this project apparently will be coming from it's association with a university program - can you please provide faculty and administrative contacts so we may verify the details?

I apologize if this seems like extra work but please bear in mind that the amount of work required to provide these details is far less than that will be required for the mod proper, and also less than the amount that will be contributed by anyone who joins. If the claims you have made are true this project represents an excellent opportunity for many people. However embellishment of one's experience is common. This is why experienced modders would like to see concrete evidence before joining. If you can provide it, the offers are much more likely to come, and more importantly they are likely to be by people who have the experience you will need to achieve your goal.
