What is the Deal With the New Maps?

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

I have been downloading maps from this site for a while now and it seems that alot of the newer maps are a hell of alot darker than the older ones. I hate having to adjust my brightness in the game and on my screen. I think all the levels should be evenlly Bright. Can any one explain?

Well, let me try and explain. We at RealMaps have decided to take each new map we receive, and dip it deep within the watered ashes of dead hookers. You see, the water, when applied in the right amount, gives the ash a consistency similar to that of blackened paste.

Anyway, these maps are then sun-dried, cured, and padded down by a professional law enforcement officer. Now comes the hard part. We sift through each map, one by one, and throw out any that might be considered well lit or "daytime".

We take these select maps, and with ever so much care, we duct tape them to the penis of a pissed off gibbon, who proceeds to run through the mud with the kind of abandon normally reserved for frat hazings.

Then, and only then, are these maps ready to be uploaded to FilePlanet, when you, the lucky, light-sensitive public can get your grimy hands on the latest and greatest.

Or....some maps have dark shadows in em or they are set at night.

Could go either way. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

no seriously. Nomadjedi, it would help if you told us what hardware/software you are running. Pardon the very funny though unhelpful commentary above.
