NHL2002 is great online. I've never played any other game except earlier versions of NHL series. 2002 has better netcode and the play is pretty good because of that.
The only other sports games I have are F1 Championship season 2000 and FIFA 2001. F1 is pretty crappy and I haven't tried FIFA yet (online that is).
