It seems to me that it's not really everyone that has lost interest in Unreal, but, I hate to say, mostly those that are members of Nali City. Map reviewing site Insite seems to be cranking out reviews just as fast as NC once had. I know that people do move on with their lives, and it takes a bit to make and post reviews.

I'm not sure what our reviewer situation is, like how many we have, or what they're doing, I know Qualth has had to take a break from it. But I see no reason why we couldn't get out more reviews, of new maps, and some that are already in the database.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid that NC is falling as a review and map source, or that NC needs some revitalizing. Is it just me?

You are unfortunately right. With the sheer amount of reviewers listed, one might believe a little more than 2 reviews in a week are possible. I don't know the exact average, but I see there were 3 reviews within the last week (actually... more like 8 days). And the last review before that is over two weeks old.

I do think the reviewer list needs udpating tho

I think the problem is that there's really no enthusiasm for new maps like there used to be with UT, but maybe that's because most of the new UT2003 maps aren't that good
plus most of the old established mappers have either moved on or got hired by a gaming company so they're not releasing anything

Most of the reviewers have become inactive or moved on.

I wouldn't mind giving reviewing a try, it would have to be UT only until I get UT2003. But I've also got to get a job sometime and college starts this fall. I'd have to see how much free time I'd have, but until then I might be able to review.

Would probably need someone to do UT2003 reviews too to help.

I try to avoid deathmatch and CTF maps, since I only really play double domination and bombing run. i'm also trying to stay away from UT maps because I dont play it much anymore, and the UT2003 maps seem to be few and far between for some reason....

You have to do the reviewer process like everyone else.

Oddly enough, most of the reviewers actively visit the site. Maybe you guys should email them and ask them for reviews.

I changed the staff page to show active vs. inactive.

I agree, NC is not the same it used to be. But afterall, I can see some light here: the scores have risen, at least a bit. I also have one small idea how we could get better maps: I, for example have a fairly big collection of UT maps, and when I made a test, many of these maps have been uploaded here but have not been reviewed. I don't store bad maps, although most of them are quite average. So, I could do a search and then request a review of those maps that have not been reviewed yet. How many review request do you get these days? Is the name of the requester shown in the list?
