is inf the forgotten middle child of the UT community ?

i noticedtoday that the 2.8 release has been well, forgotten by PU, and what do we have here, INF's little brother (metaphorically, i know theres no relation between the two), strike force getting another "look someone farted" interveiw to go along with the "any day ending with a 'y'" interviews, and the first question, of this interview ???

quote:
First things first. If the terrorists from CS had to face the counter-terrorists from SF, who would win and why? [/quote]

wheres all the fanfare for infiltration, who in my opinion, have worked 10 times as hard as any other team in this community (not to say that they all haven't worked hard, well maybe not TO but thats a different post)

what did inf get on its release ?? about 2 lines from whoever posted the news, and a direct copy from the inf news page.. i'm sick of seeing strike force interviews every day.. i dont wanna know about tacops being in some magazine... i want inf to get the respect and aknowledgment it deserves.

Exactly. Was going to post this myself. 2.8 and regular updates should get the interest in INF snowballing. Any sign of reviews yet?

You must forgive them, when you have INF, it's hard to find the time to actually review it /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
modsquad should have one soon though.

Modsqaud has posted a review. How could they rate TO higher than Inf? It is just sad...

Honestly I don't personally like any of the other UT modifications other than INF. I know lots of people with the same view. I think its all STOOPID JUST ****ING STOOPID.

As warren said, INF isnt for everyone. A vast majority of gamers want Hollywood, so it is understandable that TO did better coz the sounds are more appreciable by the general audience. It is difficult for the majority of gamers to appreciate INF coz TV is all they know, they've never been exposed to what its really like.

Now pls, we dont need to go on and complain about INF not doing better than the others or why INF seems to be left out and all. Its better to keep the INF community intact and allow it to grow at its own pace.

It is sad, yes, but I definitely know I prefer INF to anything else.

its not so much the reviews that i care about, i take them with a pinch of salt so its quite irrelevent.

what i'm trying to call attantion to is the general lack of attention inf has been getting, be it on the PU news page or anywhere else, while SF & TO seemingly get some sort of mention everyday between them.

I think SF and TO are mostly getting more exposure because they release more often than Inf. Note that I'm not saying that they do more, I think 2.8 proved that Inf just puts way more stuff in one release than the other mods do.
But because the other mods release more often, they look like they are making more progress.

Again, I'm not in the habit of mod-bashing. It does not all _have_ to be realistic to me, although in my opinion, Inf 2.8 definitely proves that realism can be fun.

So anyway, I suspect once the 3 or 4 week updates start coming around, publicity for Inf will pick up anyway.

And of course, it is bound to be influenced by how much effort is put into the promotion by the team itself

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion=)

However I do believe that opinions need to be accompanied by reasons. And those reasons need to be set forth to aid us(or any project for that matter) to aid us.

The review was good, no matter how they rated us. It lets us in of what needs work and what doesn't.

Let me remind all of you that this is only the drop in the pond. Those of you who are unimpressed with the realistic damage system now will surely welcome the addition of body armor and working helmets in later versions. And such Others. This beta was just a TEST.

Rest assured. It will all come together^_^

I hear ya T101. But as Shakken says,

"This is a test of the emergency broadcast system. It is only a test. tuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu....."
Track 3: Idol Talk, Macross Plus Soundtrack.

I have to admit tho, it urks me that INF seems to be avoided by the rest of the community.

i just wanna cover my hide here, i'm not trying to bash SF & TO (well maybe to just a bit, i admit it, what can i say, mojo made me do it) i'm merely using them as examples of the coverage other mods get from the online media.
