SOMETHING TO REMEMBER FOR ALL YOU OUT THERE

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Newcomers must respect that this messageboard has had quite a history, and that somethings the people who've been here longer may know more about.

I agree with this... but theres a way to deal with it. Newbies DON'T know everyones backgroud as we know each others (sort of). If they are mistaken or if they do something no acceptable in the community, theres a way to deal with that without flaming or insluting anyone. Respect soldier!

Any military will know (its the first thing I learned out there) that the most important rule in leadership is SET AN EXEMPLE.

Excellent point, geogob.

And if you don't feel like telling the newbie (in a kind manner) what they're doing wrong; you can insted simply forward them to the Real Life Gaming: NEWBIE GUIDE.

(shameless plug :D )

nice guide!

Should be mandatory for INF forums beginners!

No seriously... lets show the UT community that we still have a minimum of manners. Do we really have to be like those we dont want to see here? cus thats sound ironic to me... and it is too!

Thx DarkNess for this little + for INF beginners. I'm sure they appreciate it since this mod and is community is a little complicated and sophisticated from time to time.

Good idea, people add a link to it, it should prevent many verbal skirmishes in future.

A simple link in your ig is all it takes.

Done...

good idea! the more we advertise this, the more usfull it will get.

I'm happy to see that some people still have some sense left

And my last comment reminds me of another danger... irony! Guys be carefull with that... some people here (like me) dont have a perfect english and dont always understant all the it subtilities.

Often the joke or the irony is not undestood correctly... watch it!

hmmm.

To add to that. Sarcasm and Irony dont come across well in a written form either. Weather or not English is your first, second, third language it doesnt matter. If you are being sarcastic or ironic you really have to make it clear that that is what you doing becuase if someone doesnt know you from a bar of soap how are they going to know your joking.

Just a thought.
