How do I do a minimum install?

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

There may not be an option for the mini install. Usually if a game has this option it will be presented to you during the setup... when you first install, somewhere near where it asks you to select the location on you drive where you want the game to be installed. If this option isn't avalible then there is no mini install.... If you try to get around it, you risk corrupting the install.

During install, there is a screen that asks you what components you what to install, like gamecontent, ngstat, directx7, and something else (can't remember)

You can uncheck whatever you don't want to install, but obviously, you'll need to install the game content. It will tell you that anyways.

It will also give you a brief discription of what the components are and whether you can not install them.

Now PuF does make a good point, but what type of mini install are ya talking about? He is absolutely right as far as not installing direct x7 and so on. But, Quake 2 offered three types of install, the min, normal and max.... max being the entire game on the drive (this way you can play with out using the cd), the normal which puts most of the game (files, dll's and so on) on the drive, but you need the cd to play and so on... if this is the type of min you are looking for UT does not have it, you are stuck putting the whole thing in.... Directx 7 is not really part of the game, it is utility used by Windows, it is an extra feature they give to you, so in essance you wont have to download it later...

hope that helps
