To be honest, the big problem with airport security, is that bringing explosives on board is perfectly possible and not difficult at all. All the money that is being spent on airport security, apart from checking for weapons (knives, guns, swords, axes, spears), is completely unnecessary, and would be better spent trying to stop the problem at its root. To put it another way, the problem is not that people can bring explosives on board, the problem is that people do it.

Another point to consider, is that terrorists probably won't attack again through airplanes. In London they used the subway system and buses. If they strike again in the US, they might as well be using chemical weapons 24 style.

Perhaps if we took our penis out of the Middle East's butt, fewer people would have reason to be angry with us.

Doubt it. America and the world is just a an excuse used by terrorists. Its not so much why people are joining up and why it happens. The reason they have any sort of influence in the middle east is two main reasons, Opposition and desperation. America and the world could leave today and still they would be a threat thirty years from now. As long as the problems inside the middle east aren't touched don't expect anything to change.

The sad truth is that even without all those post 11-9 'security' you'd still have a much better chance of dieing in a car-crash than in any single airplane accident since the dawn of flight.

Heck ... the engines of the A380 have a better chance of causing an accident before the T-boys even think of causing one on purpose.

But in the decade of the 2000s, only about one passenger for every 25 million was killed in a terrorist attack aboard an American commercial airliner (all of the fatalities were on 9/11). By contrast, a person has about a one in 500,000 chance each year of being struck by lightning.
Why be afraid of T-boys at all ?

yea, because if we weren't there the nice jihadists would adopt the "live and let live" attitude for the great satan and its infidels.

You do realize they are politically motivated? It's really hard to get people pissed off at a country half the world away when said country is not dropping bombs and killing your countrymen, friends and family. The Islamic religions preach peace, much like Christian religions do, but they get warped by certain individuals and groups as a tool to motivate people and unite them under their cause.

The only reason we have anything to fear from these people is because we are sticking our dicks in the proverbial bee's nest to get some honey, as someone else has said in this very thread (I think).

What? Dude, they get pissed off when you draw a cartoon of that one guy.

There's a difference between writing angry editorials and getting a man to strap bombs on and go blow himself up to make a statement.

To me, the probability of dying by being struck by lightning is much much higher. :)

They said the same thing about Vietnam. We left. Now we trade and live happily ever after. I don't know if you realise this but the founding fathers believed in a humble foreign policy, no nation building and especially no entangling alliances. I'm sure you know that though, as you are a true conservative unlike me.
