Funny thing is I was just thinking of that. My definition of hipster is different than the original or classic definition.

Imo being hipster is mainstream even though that goes against the classic definition.

Dawn of War 2 - Retribution: 4/10. I probably should have waited for the price to drop to $15-$20 before I got it. The voice acting is even worse than in the original DoW2 and Chaos Rising. The single player campaigns are pretty much all the same, and the first few missions are really boring. The Tyranid campaign was by far the most disappointing, and I can't even understand what the hell the announcer is supposed to be saying. There are still a lot of bugs from the previous two games that still haven't been fixed, and there are plenty of balance issues left. It still takes me forever to join a game, and the load times are really bad compared to what they were like before. The Last Stand seems way easier than it was before, too. The most disappointing part was the multiplayer - only a couple new maps added, no new wargear for the heroes, and only one new unit for each faction. I'm glad that they decided to get rid of one annoying layer of DRM, though. At least now I don't have to count on both of them being annoying.

For $30 it definitely wasn't that great.

GlurgleglurgleglurgleglurgleRequisitionPoint!

My three biggest irks with that game:

1. Imperial Guard as the new race. Boring. They dedicated an entire expansion pack to them in DoW1. They already had Guardsmen and Kasrkin in the game, I was expecting them to add Leman Russes in the Retribution campaign and then provide Guard as a full race in a seriously attention-grabbing bit of DLC. Really disappointed.
They had plenty of other choices - the story of the campaign would have given them a great opportunity to provide a combined Inquisition race of Grey Knights, Sisters of Battle and Deathwatch; something which has never been done before.

2. Saved games from Chaos Rising aren't carried over, which means the storyline isn't consistent. Mild spoiler (more significant if you haven't played CR):
it was strange enough seeing my traitor as Diomedes' faithful right-hand man, but to add insult to injury it's implied that the CR commander turned evil, even if you didn't?
What's the bloody point in a branching storyline if your choices are erased?
Imagine if with Mass Effect 3, Bioware decided to do the same thing, and have your Elkor Shepard be a pacificist televangelist for the Church of Latter-Day Saints. The last two games are assumed to have been spent with the player farming corn in Iowa while the Reapers take over Vivid Entertainment and live Charlie Sheen's fantasy. When Shepard's pamphlet delivery interrupts Sovereign exchanging life essence with two dozen up-and-coming porn stars, the game begins, and it's Orgazmo in space.
Would have been nice to have my Chaos Rising squad back with their awesome end-game upgrades, too.

3. Online matchmaking system is broken. Last Stand being easier would go down well in my book, but I haven't had a chance to experience it. I miss Games For Windows Live....

What really annoys me is that they didn't even bother improving the AI or unit pathing.

Turtles in Time Re-Shelled (TMNT for XBL Arcade) 7/10

It's a fun remake of the Super Nintendo game. Only $5 on XBox Live arcade. Worth a buy, and still fun to play through over and over, seeing how you can beat it in about an hour or so.

Bumping this glorious thread because I knocked 2 more games off my queue of about 20

Metroid Prime 3 Corruption: 8.5/10

This game is definitely the easiest of the trilogy. I rate it the same as Echoes because for every fault it does have, it counters back with very very good positives. The game does hold your hand and the puzzles aren't as mind bending as previous Metroid games have been in the past. The environments however are simply gorgeous for a Wii title, and being able to use the wii-mote to aim is a blessing. Boss battles as always have been the highlight, with most requiring some what of a brain to take down. The final boss however was kind of a letdown and I was hoping Prime was going to be as epic as he was at the end of the first game. With that said, this is a worthy installment to end the Prime trilogy.

Bionic Commando: 5/10

Bought this game roughly a year ago for 10 dollars and it was worth every penny of that. Any more however and I would have been extremely dissatisfied. For starters, the environments can look awfully pretty at times, but then you realize you can't go anywhere but a straight line most of the time for fear of skin melting radiation. Yes I realize this is intentional as it basically makes it a 2d game set in a 3d area, but here are the drawbacks to this design. Most of the time it is obviously marked with a blue haze or blue streaks on buildings, but 9/10 I found myself swinging into a fallout zone with no indication what so ever.

Next the swing mechanic borders workable to just plain broken. Most times I was clearly close enough to grapple, but the blue indicator telling me it's safe would never happen, thus I plummet to my doom.

Third the story is laughable. It would have been somewhat tolerable if they didn't pull the twist near the end, which I might add I successfully guessed while dining on oatmeal this morning. The ending was also a total letdown. Oh and note to story makers out there, don't introduce a character, never give him a backstory, bring him back near the end of the game only to have him tell you he was part of this group but he isn't any more ****ery. THAT DOESN'T BRING CLOSURE!!

Fourth the framerate is atrocious in some areas. Must optimization was needed. I am sure the pc port runs much smoother but that was a failed monstrosity from what I hear(no graphical options  )

Fifth and probably my most hated - Having to play through the entire game again to find everything. Yes that is right, you can't pick a level you missed that one collectable in and snag it, you have to play through the entire game. They offer a level select, but a message comes up clear as crystal "Trophies/achievements and collectables will be disabled" WHY!!! Dumb as nails design on that one devs.

Mini annoyance - Fire kills you 2 seconds flat while you can take 10 seconds worth of machine gun fire. BAH

Overall it had its fun moments, and the combat can be rather fun once you get more grapple abilities, but overall its a pretty average game especially after the great REarmed.

Clive Barker's Jericho 6/10

Very nice game. I loved the level design, especially for the last 2 levels, they were fantastic.

The storyline is awesome, places are awesome too, soundtrack and sound effects are good.

Just the gameplay is screwed up, very limited, you can't jump, you can't drop off ledges, you have only one path to walk. Same enemies from the first level until the final boss, with some special enemies for each level that appear every now and then, each level has around 1-3 uncommon enemies. Some survival scenes.

The AI sucked donkey balls big time.

The game is under the Horror genre, but I think "Action" is ok for it, since it lacks the element of surprise which is important in horror games, you can see the enemies coming from miles away sometimes.

Weapons and super powers are well done.

The game would be a hit if it had Co-op, and if the AI and movements were a bit more flexible.

I think parts of Amnesia were inspired from this game.

Well worth the $5.00.

Universe Sandbox: Not a game but still gets a rating of 6/10

I love astronomy and I've always wanted to play with 3D planets instead of the wimpy 2D ones I was making in Algodoo. You could make star systems, solar systems, planets with rings, and generally play with gravity. You could summon a massive moon around Saturn and watch as it pulls the rings apart, collide galaxies, smash planets together until it becomes a star, and tons of other space related things. The only reason I gave this a 6 is because the program is very unstable. Crashes happen very frequently, often on startup, before I even do anything. Then again, this is a complex simulation program that was developed by just one indie developer so it's kind of excusable.

God Hand: It's a game about punching people, and it's awesome. But hard. But fair. It deserves more attention than it got!

So yeah, this game is still awesome. I'm on Chapter 3 on Normal (which is very hard), and having a blast.

I don't want to overhype this game or anything, but if you don't like God Hand you're a heartless, soulless wuss that needs to stay away from gaming.

Fallout New Vegas - Honest Hearts DLC
8/10

Developed by a different person unlike Dead Money and the two following DLCs.
This one is a bit short. Maybe too much. It can be longer if you do all the side quests but if you finish the main missions, you can't do anything else. And there's little point returning to Zion, as there's just a bunch of caves to explore and that is. Dead Money was overall harder and longer, and more satisfying as a whole. But it was an extremely linear experience.
Otherwise, if you like shooting, HH gives you a possibility: a mission where you can kill everyone in the Canyon. Just all the tribes including their bosses.

Compared to DM, it's open world, and the Zion Canyon is fantastic. Yao Guai bears are back too and there's a bunch of new weapons, vests and edibles. The cool thing is the addition of special items that can be created throughout benches.

Story-wise, and like DM, HH has obvious ties with the vanilla NV story (something that NEVER happened in FO3 because Bethesda just created expansions that added nothing to the main story; just poor - but fun - excuses to make the game longer). This makes HH more interesting, plus it got the Burned Man. Who's awesome.
There's also a subplot which manages to be better than the main story of HH.
There are several endings as well.

It's very enjoyable, easily my favourite DLC between FO3 and NV, but too short. It's quite bug-free but Obsidian's already working to remove the remaining ones (not that I've encountered any).

Crysis 2 8/10

Finally got around to playing this since I got it free with my new g-card. For a DX9 game it does look really freaking good on max settings, even though it obviously is a step down from the original game. Lots of boom boom and pew pew going on that made me feel like I was in a Michael Bay film. Very well done stuff. Character models are a step down in both detail and lip synching but still decent looking.

Now the bad though they are more annoyances if anything

Pre-rendered cutscenes. Maybe I am using the wrong terminology for this. Think how Serious Sam 2 did its cutscenes. They were using the in game engine, but done in such a way where it doesn't use up resources. Many console games use this method. I think Crysis 2 suffers this fate because there was many a time where I was in an uncontrollable scene and it was running buttery smooth, but when I took control my fps would drop as a result. The ending is another good example. All these particles flying around a densely populated city and not one slowdown? Common Crytek the original didn't do this.

Weak ending. Alright people when I say weak I cannot stress enough the weak part. You got a cliffhanger ending that would make Halo 2 proud, and there are notcredits. It just dumps you back to the main menu without a hesitation.

Main guy has no voice. Seriously why are they pulling a CoD here(pre black ops). Nomad had a voice, why couldn't Alcatraz?

Not a bad game by any means and I certainly see myself playing through it again unlike the original.

No-voice is Gordon Freeman. Half-life preceded CoD by 5 years. The facial models/animations aren't as good as the ones in Crysis 2, but I think that the character/weapon models have an overall higher polygon count, or at least look better, texture-wise. I remember looking down at my legs in Crysis 1 and thinking: yeah... these legs don't look nearly as good as mah arms.
