Looks like they are released almost simultaneously... As I understand: Unreal 2 = good single player, not so good online.
UT 2 = no single player of any significance because made for online gaming. First thought: I'll buy UT 2 first since I never even played Unreal and prefer online gaming anyway, but I guess it all depends on the demo's.

edit: typo

Actually U2 looks to have quite a good online package and even a new gametype (XMP). And UT2 has a fairly extensive single-player ladder game.... go figure...

I love both Unreal 1 and UT so I'm gonna buy both.
Which I buy first depends on which of them are released first.

Looking in from the outside
Hmm....

I am more into the multiplayer so if they came out at the same time I think I would buy Unreal Tournament 2. Unreal 2 looks good but I am not really into the XMP type multiplayer. Plus I can't wait to start a revolution when UT2 comes out. /me has big plans ;) some of which involve a new (very specialized) Unreal site. I might drop more hints later :B

Hi Crakie,

My bet is on UT2, but we'll buy U2 as well... should be good... U2 because you will be waiting for a new U game since a long time ago, and UT2 becuase it will rock like nothing else! :)

Unreal Warfare is over 2 years away- Unreal Tournament 2 is the game now...

Whichever comes out first :D.

In the end I'll end up playing whichever game I like better more. And from this point there's no way to tell that. XMP is lookin pretty fun.....

But if they came out at the exact same time which one would you grab first? ;)

What a great time to be a gamer.

Im going to get both of them U2 and UT2. I think U2 will come out before UT2.
U2= Spring or beginning of summer (U.S. seasons)
UT2= Sometime during the summer or early fall (U.S. seasons)

If they came out on exactly the same date, I would buy them both on exactly the same time. I would also have bought another puter so I could play them at exactly the same time too :D
As they wont ship at the same time I'll buy wichever comes first first, that means the very moment the game reaches the shelves in Norway :D

I don't know, that equation makes it more of a Unreal Tournament 1 and 1/2 to me. :hmm:

I guess I'm expecting a bit much, though.

I would be expecting a lot more if I felt that it wasn't a console port. Of course, DE can prove my guess wrong by releasing an awesome game.

I'm really excited about the weapon combos and special moves. I'm very confident in their (and Epic's) code upgrades. I think where they will have to prove themselves is in the mapping department. Can they carry an entire game with 30 strong maps?

I think it will be very slick, and have more of an arcade feel/look to it. I'm not sure if that's what people are looking for in a PC game though.

We'll see! :D

SUNRISE: I play for fun, but I love to win. :) I'm more of a team game player and I like to fill the needed role for the team.
