i love making movers
the more complex the task the more i injoy it

i made a 3 story elevator with buttons that light up

you press the button to call the lift
button lights up
lift comes (including openable inner doors)
button light turns off
both inner and outer doors open @ the same time (thats harder then it sounds :D)
you press the aproprate floor button (button lights up, both inside the lift and on the floor your going 2)
doors close
buttons are turned off (cant use them)
lift arives
doors open
button light turns off and buttons work again

man i love movers trigger and dispatchers :D

edit : i hope i can get bots to use it thou.... :eek:

Yes, making a working elevator for the first time was very rewarding.

I would like to see if it is possible for a 12 story building. lol

Currently 3 of my maps in progress will have working elevators.

my lift if fully scaleble

its just for 3 floors i've used 12 movers and over 30 trigerd and dispatchers (i think... not home so cant count them)
3 moverd for the lift itself (lift + innner doors) and 3 more for every floor you add (2 doors and 1 button inside the elevator that needs to be a mover for it to be able to light up properly)

and i dont think i can fit that many buttons in the elevator :D

besides 12 floors would kill map flow on the map and make it like a vertical kosovo

I have also done an elevator in my past life (Warhouse map, SF Beta1).

But that many movers can EAT the BSP alive!! I would love to see what you have so far The_Countess...

no bps errors that i can see so far.. no mayor ones anyway just a few small ones that only show up @ the edge of your screen
sometimes a small shift in light (as the light seems to move a bit behind the lift) but thats about all

and the doors outer doors light up when the lift comes :(

o its 30 triggers/dispatchers
not 30 trigger and some more dispatchers
/me countes now

7 triggers (6 grab)
14 dispatchers
16 elevatortrigger's
so 37 in total
i used a special elevator trigger,that i coded myself, that can be trigged by a event instead of by touch btw

its a bit large because there is a 7mb texturefile in there (all home/work made by fenris and not all of those textures have been used yet

i also used a couple of textures from UT that im not 100% sure are standerd....

yup its still a mess :D
