Are board games, like diplomacy, dead?

My friends and I have been playing diplomacy in Study Hall at school for the past few weeks and I brought up the fact that diplomacy has been out of print by a major game creator for over twenty years.

I am making my own board game, simple, but with many charactaristics. I just don't think that the board game is dead. Computer games are great and everything, but many people still like something that they can get their strategic little hands on. (literally)
