ok, i have this arch/doorway thats giving me problems. on one side of it you can see a wall but you can walk through it. from the opposite side you can see staight through to the hallway.........

Your brushes don't line up, try moving the curved hallway closer to the doorjam. just look at the top view, and try "resetting" the snap, but clicking on the brushes and then right clicking on a corner, that's if they look like they already should touch.
I don't make much sense i know.

that didnt work.........

i took out the curved hallway and replaced it with a 256 cube and it does the same thing too.........

Is the trim a semi-solid?

i honestly have no idea then. try redoing both brushes ?

ive tried solid, semisolid and non solid.........

i'd just get pissed and redo it, but if that didn't work i wouldn't know what to do :(

maybe someone else will give some advice...

kinda fugly texturing, but that's not your immediate problem apparently. ;)

when you place the door way (subtracted brush) between two other subtracted brushes, presumably your trying to keep your brush sizes consistent factors of 8, and they line up properly to the grid. rebuild the map between each step.

if anything else, it might be some surrounding brushes causing problems. hard to tell not knowing.
