Barely, after last night.

New job at a gallery, show opening party last night, then pub, then crappy club, then early hours pizza, then walk home. Oh, and DM-Harmattan took a very distinct form in my mind yesterday too.

By what definition? I beleive I am alive.

But chances are the entire Fragadelic team are only subsisting compartments of a terrible alien hive mind, fooled by dark otherworldly technologies into the illusion of free-willed seperate entities.

God damn Alien Hive Minds. Damn them all.

dang, and this whole time i thought we were a myriad points of ontological conciousness rising from chaos into the networked continuum of self-referential holistic identity ... hmm.

I still dont think any of you understand... our creator lives, and he is now a dance idol. Havnt you seen, on BaSement Jaxx's video, they show him, creating the mapping monkeys... monkeys mapping... god dam, wheres my head at.... monkeys!!!!

Haha! That review at sunspire wasn't too bad - for them.

I expected worse. I noticed they didn't mention the 'reverb bug' though, so its not jsut me that doesn't get it. Also, I haven't encountered a single BSP error while playing the map - weird. It seems to depend so much on your personal system, and so is difficult to get right. And snag? Pshhh. Snag. Pah!

If he's talking about how surfaces and surface edges flicker from a distance that's completely wrong to fault a map for. I was getting that in DM-Gravadyne7 on surfaces across the room and it was really bothering me until i built a machine for my wife and put a GEForce2 32MB in it, and everything looks GREAT! No flickering surfaces at all.

So my P3 866 overclocked with 512 MB PC133 CAS2 RAM and a raid striping array of 2 45GB 7200rpm 2MB cache drives doesn't look as good in UT and gets *much* lower framerates than my wife's Celery 750 with a non-raid drive and 256MB simply because of the difference in graphics cards (my machine has a Matrox G450 dual-head, 32MB) ...

Sounds like they were faulting you for shortcomings in there graphics card, unless there's another aspect to all this i'm unaware of ...

hmm. Suspire seem to find odd things to pick on. They marked another map down a thumb just because the author deleted the brushes and saved after the final build (Thus making the file smaller, but preventing anyone from seeing how he'd made it). I didn't know that was possible. To me, marking down because of it seems like a damn odd way to review.

Ah, and Silus: I noticed two Epic maps with Reverb: The back of StalwartXL, and the top chamber on Peak. I can hear mild reverb in both, but neither gives me the bug.

I have found that bsp errors are often gcard related Ive had problems with my savage 4 but no problems with my gf3 then ive had problems with v3000 and none with any other and i just gave up trying to get it looking good with gloria 2 chipset. btw matrox g450/550 are mainly used for 2d cad and arnt very good at the 3D.

Yeah, weird. What are we to do?

Anyway, forget that, what about this:

Does anyone know anything about the options under the 'Build Settings' thing in UnrealEd?

Any info at all would be a help.

Optimization setting, minimize cuts, balance tree, what the ****.

If anyone can point me to a tutorial or something?

Also, is there a way to make a mover so that its a non-solid?

Do pubs still serve snakebite?

ULTBase

Well, I can answer one of those.. im sure pubs would still do Sankebite... I think!!! God im useful arnt I?

http://www.planetunreal.com/fordy/feature02.htm

I think that's about the most comprehensive thing I've seen on them. I've never had to fiddle with them for final builds.

I would assume if u want a mover no solid create the brush as none solid then capture it then add as a normal mover. if this make sense it a mirac;e cuase i am quite pissed at the mo

nod Spoon i got the Matrox primarily because i knew it was compatible with my SawPro recording software, and now i don't mind it for mapping, things just look better on other systems ;)

the cuts slider i think as you go higher than 15 you get more cuts, so more nodes, slower performance, but possibly solve some bsp errors (and possibly add HOM's) ... As you go less than 15 less nodes, less cuts, greater chance of BSP errors but less HOM's and faster performance.

What i really want to know is in the editor log after building i often get from 0 to 12 lines that say Warning! Node side limit reached. It sounds bad, but so far i can't seem to find any correlation at all to those warnings and problems in my map.
