When starting end up as spectator of other players at first

Ok, this is stupid for me, I should probably know this answer.

When I start a death match it starts me as a spectator watching another player.
Once my character dies then the view changes back to my proper perspective.
any ideas would be great thanks.

gotto player set up and be sure the box checked play as spectator is unchecked.

It is, besides when your set to specator it doesn't give you a character to play. I just can't see myself it sets me on someone else and won't change.

I think the problem is caused when I tested the maps inspectator it saved the last person I was looking at as a default.
