Annoying High Pitch Noise!

Anyone know why on some maps there is this annoying high pitch noise. I can't seem to get rid of it; i've changed the music, even turned it off. Help!

does it start out quiet and get increasingly louder?
turn off reverb.

Yeah, you'll find it when you type in Preferences at the console and go to Audio.

I used to get the same problem.. Naaaaasty.
