Thanksgiving's roots are spiritual. To give thanks to God. But nowadays most people just consider it "turkey day" (the traditional Thanksgiving meal) and a time to pig out and have a 4 day weekend. Like most holidays its been bent a twisted to a point where it really doesn't mean much to most people other than being a day off and a day for indulgance. O yeah, and a day for grocery stores to sell lots of food.

But, happy Thanksgiving to all. :)

But, happy Thanksgiving to all. :) to MY knowledge thanksgiving has nothing to do with god, except thanking him for **** ya know. but its not a religious holiday its just a day to celebrate what you are thankful for.......only if the native americans knew what would happen.........

thats correct.

and I dont give a crap about what Thanks given really means. im not religous and it has something to do with pilgrims and indians eating food or something like that. like I said, I dont care. I only remember what my stupid first grade teacher told me which was a load of bull**** anyways. :D

I'm committing thread terrorism because this cranky group of misanthropes must be so hated and angry at mankind that they flame Thanksgiving.

Bring it.

I'm guessing the real reason why it is a holiday is so that the nation (USA) could have a holiday of it's own. That sort of thing builds patriotism. Remember, we're talking about the 1800s when this was made a holiday, before fun stuff like Veterans day and before people were quite so jaded *points up at previous posts* :D Happy National Holiday, People!!!

On Thanksgiving, I said to a girl, "GO HAVE SEX WITH JESUS CHRIST, YOU FAGET!" Twice. In a row. I win.
