A W16 engine!? WOWZER! 252 MPH???!?!?! 900+ HP!?!?!
I....I......can't even imagine even getting close to that car, let alone owning one. Must cost half a million, at least.

An 8 liter? That's 488 cubic inches. Probably a 12-cyl.

Reminds me a little of that car in Need for Speed III. Forget the name, something weird, but it was like the fastest thing on the road…..if you could keep it on the road.

Not with me in it.
I just noticed it reads: W-16. I wonder what that is? Not a 16-cylinder, is it?

And if you did get this car, where would you drive it at 252mph?

Wait a minute. It can't be a W16. It would have to be a W12 or W15. A W configuration motor is like a V config except it has another bank of cylinders. With 3 banks it can't be a 16 unless one bank has an extra cylinder, and thats not likely. :B

The thing is a V 16. Not a W 16. Two banks of 8 cylinders each. 4 turbos. One for each quad of cylinders. Dang impressive. Wonder how much that baby weighs?

That is not just the engine, that's the engine and transaxle. Dual throttle bodies.

The tranny and motor are a unit. Notice the stuff comin out the front for drivin the front axle.

I’m sure you take them in and out as a unit, but I assure you, they are two completely separate units. Yes, “the stuff coming out the front” is part of the transaxle.

Oh-Man!!
That thing just looks way too cool!!
And I see 8 exhaust ports and 8 coils per side....that would make it a V-16!!
Way over the top!!
Right up my alley!!!

Look at the plug wires. You'll see 8 in the center of the nearest rocker cover.

Those arn`t wires!!
They are coils!
The coils mount right ontop of the spark plugs....no wires.
16 cyl...16 coils!!

Actually, those are probably small primary wires going to the coils. They probably use one coil per cylinder. Then they’ll have a short secondary end that fits right over each plug, which is buried so we can’t see it.

I mentioned in another post about my boss who has a 275 HP bike with ceramic pistons, and how my other boss is having a 350 HP bike built. He used to drag bikes and still holds a few records.

That bike your talking about it a Suzuki GSX 1300 R Hayabuza.
I don`t think it would stand much of a chance against a V-8 powered bike!! Did you see those clips of the V-8 bike??? Can you say 'need new tires???'
That thing spins the tire so frickin easy and the motors not even working!!!

Completely impractical, of course. And I'll never be able to afford one.

The bike burns tired well enough, but if it were really all that quick off the line, people would be using them as drag bikes all the time.

I don`t think they have a class for those things.....
That`s why they don`t race them....but it would be cooler then heck to see a bunch of them dragging!!
