The stuff that went off yesterday between GSI and Nali City was un-f ucking-believable. GSI seem almost despotic, it appears they simply wanted to punish people for wanting to stay with V-Bulletin rather than switch to crappy gamespy branded stuff.

So I wonder, will they drop more sites for switching to BU forums?

i didn't catch what happened yesterday, but i do know i immediately followed Chimeric over to BU when it moved a couple of weeks ago; i mean what else can you do if that's where the people you've been interracting with move to, you move along with them, not to mention the software is at least decent.

Wolf said he got an email that all the RUST/Gamedesign stuff might be in trouble and to back up all his online stuff, then he got reassurances that it was safe "for the time being", so he doesn't know what to think ...

I didnt even know that naything went on. Personally I don't intend to move from BU, as I joined when PU advertised the forums. I don't see that we are doing anyhting wrong as its just like when we used the Gamers.com forums, same thing, not GSI forums. Im happy with these, but what do you all think?

I'm very, very happy with BU. It's just basically (As it appears to me):

GSI: "We really think everyone should use the new Gamespy branded forums. We'd really like you to change to our software"
PuF: "Nah".
GSI: "No, really, we insist"
PuF: "No. It's crap and we don't like it"
GSI: "Well, f uck you then, we're changing it whether you like it or not"
PuF: "Rightyho, we're all off to do what we want"

Then, by way of punishment, GSI took down Nalicity, removed all the maps from Fileplanet on a few hours notice... and generally behaved in a mardy, tyrannical manner. As far as I know, no terms of agreement were violated, GSI were just being utterly unreasonable and arsey.

I'm also very happy with the web/file hosting provided. Everything seems dandy in that respect at the moment. It was just an idle wonder as to where GSI stop: will they carry on being punitive towards hosted sites/BU?

I just spoke to Thunderbear, and I can say that we are safe. We can use the BU forums with no problems and we can continue with PU without questions.
