danke schon, BaSe, excellent news ...
man you went all out with the intro ... thanks.
Hope to have a beta for you guys to analyze here shortly ... the last couple days i have been struggling mightily to come up with a high-class looking polished wood texture that tiles decently -- the ones i've found on the 'net and in stock UT texpacks all look like planks or plywood, not like fine polished antique furniture which is what i'm after.
Found some great photos available for non-commercial use and spent 3 hours last night with Photoshop and finally got one that looked great and tiled pretty well, but once in the map it just looks cartoony and the deep rosewood ambience of it looks like a mix of PeptoBismal and puke from some sorority chick that drank winecoolers all night long ... sigh. Guess maybe the resolution of the photos weren't high enough to start with. If anybody knows of relevant textures, i'd be happy to hear it.
Also bludgeoning my way through learning how to make a model in Milkshape before the 30 day trial period runs out (to get some cool complex objects into the map without taxing the BSP any more than it already is) and mostly just banging my head against a brick wall with it, but that's another story ...
Thanks again, and if anybody else in addition to Silus has maps in progress needing twisted feedback lemme know ;)
