Wow? I've actualy got a (good) reputaion in some parts of the net.

I hopped on this SNIPER-ARENA-CTF server Friday night as Peregrine. We're playing for a few, I'm number 2 on my team. Someone by the name of PORNSTAR joins the opposing team. Well, of course, I thought it was OUR Pornstar. I never played with our Pornstar so I'm like....

"Heyyyy, Pornstar!"
No reply
"Yo Pornstar"
Finally...
"Yeah?"
Me: "Is that you bro??"
Him "Um...yeah???"
Me: "Pornstar|PuF???"
No Reply
Me: "Pornstar|PuF?"
Him: "No. Hmmm. Someone else using my name?"
Me: "Or your using his LOL"

So one of the guys from TFC clan (it's thier server) says...

"Are you Peregrine|PuF???"
Me: "Yes sir!"
(I really should have just screenshot the whole talk...didn't think of it)
TFC Dude: "I'm honored your on our server!"

He's honored?!? He's heard of me?!?!
*Blush*
How cool is that???

Anyone else got any "Show of Respect" stories???

Back about a year ago I joined up the Proving Grounds 1 vs 1 ladder. I went into the forums to ask how one would go about getting a server if they had no admin friends. Well surprise surprise:) I got a whole bunch of replies like "you're OshadowO from PuF (I didn't even have a tag on!) right...yeah dude just drop by our channel anytime etc etc":)
It was really cool since I'd never met these guys before:)

I'm known on some servers as "the guy with the hammer and translocator" since sometimes i just use those 2 things to inflict pain. i remember beating an assault map they give you 30 minutes to do in about 3 :D

Hehe...us BuFers are famous:D so famous some even steal our name:mad: ;) I hope you fragged/humped his a§§ for me Peregrine:)

I supose I always knew, deep down, I wasn't the only pornstar around:(

No one ever shows me respect, but a couple of times I have gotten a "wow a PuFer on the server" when I come on (this was in the days when PuF, not BuF, were the l33t comunity out there).

Yeah, i hear this one guy say "hey Pinecone, are you PuF?" once when I'm not even wearing the tag! And he's like, "sweet!" Didn't even recognize the dude. The BuF is gonna throw people off a little, but ah well. I'm proud to represent our creed of good sportsmanship, even if I don't ever really 0wn :).

The opposite has happen to me back when I used the PuF-tag.
Some people start flaming me and saying PuF are a bunch of lamers. That only happend 2 or 3 times and I guess it was people who was banned from PuF for some reason.
I didn't really care. Most people were nice.

This kind of thing happens to me all the time... not the RESPECT part... ;) but I do get complements on my posting skills(usefulness not spammage... :D ).

There are lots of lurkers out there and it's always cool to meet someone on a server.

Actually what I want to know is who's spreading this nasty rumour that I'm good(at playing UT). I have a reputation to uphold and something like that could ruin it. ;)

In case you have forgotten Peregrine I was the one who was honored. I hope you enjoyed snipers. Most of the players there (including me) are not very good at manipulating all the weapons and the xloc thingie, so this gives us an alternative to enjoy UT with.

I was wondering if you were surprised with our method of play. Was it faster than you expected, was there more "run and gun" than you thought there would be?

We (snipers) like others, do not like spawn killers. If someone decides to be one (Face) the comments will follow.

Anyway you are a class act and someone that PUF/BUF can be proud to call one of there own. :sniper:
