HTML / IE 5.5 (SP1) Oddity

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

OK, given the following

Code:
<FORM>
<SELECT NAME='1' STYLE='font-family:Symbol'>
<OPTION VALUE='a'>abcdefg</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE='b'>ABCDEFG</OPTION>
</SELECT>

<SELECT NAME='2' STYLE='font-family:Wingdings'>
<OPTION VALUE='a'>abcdefg</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE='b'>ABCDEFG</OPTION>
</SELECT>

<SELECT NAME='3' STYLE='font-family:Arial'>
<OPTION VALUE='a'>abcdefg</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE='b'>ABCDEFG</OPTION>
</SELECT>

<SELECT NAME='4' STYLE='font-family:Webdings'>
<OPTION VALUE='a'>abcdefg</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE='b'>ABCDEFG</OPTION>
</SELECT>
</FORM>
In IE5.5, WHY do 1 and 3 display properly, but 2 and 4 don't? (ie. 1 displays in symbol, 3 displays in Arial, but in 2 and 4 the options don't appear in Wingdings or Webdings).
