Mod worth checking out...

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. Its called The Specialists, and its for Half-Life. I found it a couple months ago and thought it was really neat. Its not out yet but its 89% complete. It does have a crosshair but still focuses on realism. Meaning 3-4 shots kill (1 per headshot). Its basically terrorists VS counter-terrorists, with a few different game types. Its also got a very Max Payne look to it (just look at the screenshots). I'm really looking forward to this cause its like Counter-Strike (T vs CS), Infiltration (realism, 3-4 shots kill) and Action Half-Life (stunts will be included) mixed into one mod. It wont be as realistic as INF. Not even close. But its more realistic than CS, and thats what I like. The BIGGEST thing I hate about CS is the amount of times a person can get shot without dieing.

Notice how I said "realsim" not "extreme realsim". Yes the game does have a crosshair, and yes 4 shots per kill is sort of realistic. So its fair to say that its realistic but not extreme realism, no?

LOL! That's not even a tiny bit realistic! If any of us even got grazed by a bullet, we'd be on the floor. Imagine if one went through your arm or leg. How would you walk/fire? What if it hit your body and did lots of damage to major organs? What about when shock sets in? That's what's gonna happen, so multiply that by 4. :p

ya but its twice as realistic as inf's gameplay in that you can't sprtint sideways at full tilt while spraying barrlels drums and taking out whole squads
