UT over home-LAN

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

i build up a small LAn with me and my brother in it...

we got both nearly the same system:

Duron 800
MSI-K7T Pro2A
512/256MB 133RAM
Windows2000
Networkcards both 100MBits
Network: RJ45 per Cross-Cable

the problem is, that every other network game worx fine, but UT!

we both have the version 436 the GameOfTheYear-Edition

it seems like the whole network-code of UT sux, because I'm also nat able to find any Internet-Server!

hope somebody knows a solution,

i know it ...

well we had this problem on several LAN-partys so here is my solve ;)

1. make shure u both have the same IP-Range and the same subnet mask !
on our lans the ip range is 131.136.139.1 - 131.136.139.255
and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 on ALL computers .. well we made a table were everybody who plays on our lans gets his own ip-end-number ;)

2. if this dont worx delete the IPX protocol un both computers !

3. if this also not worx try a UT-reinstall .. but .. i dont think thats the fault of UT but of ur network-settings...

well AND make shure to switch the option for network to "lan" in the UT-perfences !!

good luck and HF ;)
