Groupy mod thread opened.

This wouls be a simple congloermate.

Simple, people submit finished weapons or items to who ever is running it, should he or she find it any good, its added to the WoD package. Every so often a new verson is reviewed.

Sort of, hopefuly, mutators made, and submited gametypes would give it a slight focus, but not in a way that requires any goals.

Ive just been using WoD, it doesnt realy matter, if its something else, I can change it in the compile.

hell, I'm using my default test package, KangW1. Then again, I code my weapons to be non reliant on the package name normally.

none of my test stuff has the model yet when its in the package. Makes the compile go faster.

So you test with standard models? That's what I'm doing with the boomerang (more becuase I'm too lazy to animate it and exec it than compiling speed). Speeking of da boomerang, what if I had it look for items that are really close to it, rather than checking if it touched them?

Right now I have the 2 guns from me, based on the quad shot, 2 things from Windex(ports) and hopefully soon some stuff from Kangus.

My boomerang actually seems kinda week considering how powerful most of the weapons will probably be. Maybe it could be a starting weapon, to replace the Impact Hammer.

So submissions are a key factor in all of this?

Let me drop you guys an idea, new mods are springing up all the time, all of witch needs puplicity, you guys could make that work for you.

If a mod team wanted, they could send you guys a few working weapons from their project, witch would be cloused source ofcourse (or no-one would contribute anything), and a simple mutator could be made to use them instead of the UT weaponry, coupled with the abaillity for the gamer to add them in a custom weapon list.

This gives the WOD-mod a potentially constant supply of weapons, plus the mod teams get pimpage, a win win situation i'd think.

Worth a thought?

As a mod maker myself, still waiting to get a first public beta out the door, the prospect of getting some pimpage by sending a couple of working weapons to the WOD-mod sounds quite interesting, it would give us a chance to show the world a bit of what we can do whilst we work on the first release, a preview of sorts ;)
