No Sound

I just built a new system but refrained on installing my
sound card just yet. I decided to go with onboard sound
until I got all the bugs worked out knowing the problems
you sometimes face with soundcards. I had a pentium III
300, and installed a Vortex 2 SQ2500 soundcard in it with
no problems. So I decided to just use it in my new system.
Problem is, I have sound under windows but when I start up
UT I have no sound. I have use hardware sound checked so I
know that's not the problem. My new system is as follows!


AMD Thunderbird 1.333
Asus A7M266 DDR Mobo
512mg PC2100 266mhz DDR Ram
IBM Deskstar 60 7200rpm HD
GeForce II GTS 64mg DDR
Yamaha 16x10x40 IDE CRW

Turn off EAX in Soundcard

With the Vortex 2 cards, if you have the latest drivers, you have an EAX and A3D option. I have found that the UT sound has problems if in your soundcard you have the EAX option enabled, since it is capable of both EAX and A3D. I think it doesn't know which one two use. I turn off the EAX and it has worked great for me.
