The first movie, Jurassic Park, had a decent story since it was based on the excellent novel (if you haven't read it, I highly recommend you pick it up. Crichton packs a lot more into the book than you fit in the movie).

The second one was rather lame, but not outright bad. The third, however, was horrid. The plot had so many holes it looked like swiss cheese... too bad, because it had the potential to be good. Instead it just seems like a vehicle to make a buck instead of telling a story.

The best part of whole thing was the uber-cool Spider-Man trailer! Now that looks like it's going to ROCK! wOOt!

TTRStryker8, I thought it looked at least as good as the X-Men trailers that were released prior to the movie, and X-Men turned out to be pretty darn good, IMHO.

I've got a decent feeling about Spidey - I think that X-Men showed that there is an audience for GOOD movies based on Marvel properties; now let's see an Avengers movie with a guest shot from the everlovin' Hulk!

Can you say WOOT!

Compared to the books, JP and the Lost World both blew goats. I'm not surprised, and I'm not gonna see this one.

I've got a good feeling about Spidey also; Marvel invests a lot in the Spider-Man franchise and keeps it together well, so it strikes me as unlikely to be a screwed up movie.

Of course, the same could be said for Captain America, The Punisher, and the Fantastic Four, and look what a load of crap those movies were...

You know what...the movie wasn't bad for the first 2/3rds. I thought it might actually do ok.

Then came that lame ass ending...for the love of god...I was dumbfounded.

JP4 will probably be even worse. Since I'm assuming the pteradons are going to make it to civilization, wipe out all airborne birds, and take monster dumps on all the cars they can spot.

*SPOILER ALERT* You have been warned.

The most unbelievable thing to me (and there were many, many to choose from) was the fact that these voracious prehistoric eating machines seemed much more interested in striking "ooo, look at the nifty special effects" poses than they were in eating the silly hors d'oeuvres that were running around.

Or maybe it was the cell phone that you could hear through a dino's stomach. Or his poop, for that matter.

Or that the raptors wouldn't do the slice -n- dice boogie once they got what they wanted.

Or that they would care about 2 eggs out of a few dozen.

Or that a kid could survive for 8 weeks. Alone. In a tanker truck.

All in all, the plot made The Fast and The Furious look well-written (and that is really saying something!). Don't get me wrong, I liked F-n-F, but it was essentially a long music video. I guess I just expected more from JP.

I'll do WHATEVER it takes to avoid this piece of **** :(

Compare this to movies like "the sixth sense" and "unbreakable"... c'mon. those are movies;..
JP3 is ****. simple as that.

BTW: i've read m.c. 's novel "the lost world". Very good imho :)

p.s. : I've only seen the first jp movie. It was ok I guess.
Very predictable, yeah, but ok. Great special effects, loved the t-rex and raptors.. that's it.

Jp3.. what a joke.. what a mistake..
JP4 ?????? that'll be the day! :D

Another miscreant: star wars episode 1 :(
compare this to the first st. w. movies.. man..
(btw I grew up with these movies. They were so incredibly cool.
But episode 1.. 1/10. that's my score. Really crummy movie...

Even the white empirial soldiers were replaced by.. droids.. wheeeeeee..

WORST MOVIE EVER!!!!!! MERE WORDS CANNOT BEGIN TO DESCRIBE IT.

it is once in a long while that a movie truely this bad comes out. i think i am going to go see it again, because i am in shock at how absolutely disgustingly horrible it was. in a summer of disappointing movies, this one was just down right GOAT CRAP. i went in thinking i was going to hate it, and came out wanting to throw myself into traffic for subjecting myself too it.

thinking about it makes me violent...... there were no redeeming qualities to the movie. i thought the animation was cheesy. there were too many bad cuts from stupid looking animation to even worse animatronics. it was just terrible. don't even get me started on the plot, or my head will explode :D

yeah, it was bad, mission to mars bad. worst movie of the summer, and i saw crazy/beautiful AND cats and dogs......
