The end to the snipers problems!

I made a little mutator that replace all Sniper Rifles in the map with Non-Scope Sniper Rifles. Can a sniper snipe without his scope?

This mutator come to solve the snipers(sniper-camper) problem in the server. You can download the mutator at:

Sniping isn't a problem. It's part of the game, and a valuable asset to a good team. Someone who ignores the team in favor of increasing their own score is a problem.

heheh yeah I hate using the scope

but then again I run around like a crazy dude and shoot from the hip.

Well the main reason I like to play offence in CTF from time to time (though I'm not very good at offence and I know it

), is because the of the thrill I get from running home with the flag while the bullets hit the ground around me. That makes the game for me! Sniping is not a problem, it's a HUGE part of CTF.

Yes, I agree. But there are people that snipe, and snipe, and snipe, and snipe.... When you kill them, they just return to base and continue sniping. They are losers. They don't know how to play. They camp, and snipe. If you're enjoying playing when bullets dence around you, why not making a mod that makes bullet dance aroung your character

It isnt a problem, its part of the game, that why they put that evil rifle in there :sniper:

One way to deal with snipers is to pop thier head off everytime they return to the same perch. Eventually they give up or move to a different spot where you repeat the process. If you do this often enough you'll deprive them of their fun and they will either leave or do something else.

It also helps to have at least one guy on your team clear out the sniper for you...

I think you are wrong there Revenant. While many have perfected the art of shooting from the hip, most use the sniper scope. All you have to do is ping up the UT CTF servers and you will see that Facing Worlds still has the biggest draw. I personally fell in love with UT while sniping on Face. Now I think Face is one of my least played maps, but there are still thousands who flock to the map, just to snipe from the tower.

I agree completely, if they payed attention to the team it would be wonderful, because then they could pick off the people trying to kill a flag carrier, but when one goes for spawnpoints and crap, it gets annoying.

If I had a sniper rifle, I never use zoom. I just go into close combat with it!

Well, thanks to Instagib practice, now I can constantly aim very closely at the head. So if my online matches were exactly like offline matches (in terms of lag and stuff), everybody would die so quick because most of the shots I make from it would be headshots

Even with just 56k modem, I scored quite a bit of headshots with it. LK was right... all I had to do was predict.

... oh and you can't really call any snipers campers (there are exception to this rule like spawnsniping, which is lame), since sniping is part of the game strategy.

I'm sorry to say but I agree with most other people. I don't see a point. If a sniper is dumb enough to sit in the same place and snipe then they aren't that hard to get rid off. I'm speaking mainly from a DMrs POV here. If I ever get desperate enough(read as no other weapons in hand) to use the SR I don't use the scope at all.
