Suggestion: transparent clips

Anybody who's taken a look at modern automatic weapons such as the SIG 551, Steyr AUG and H&K G36 should have noticed that these have one thing in common: transparent plastic clips that lets the user see how many rounds (approximately) he's got left with a quick glance. With the Unreal engine's "scriptedTexture" feature, this should not be too hard to implement, or is it?

Stay groovy...

Quite simply the best Royve around!
actually didn't u say "not too hard"? It's just the time spent modelling every weapon besides the pistols and shotguns could be better spent doing something more important like a damage, scoring or prone hit area system.

BTW, how do you do the quote thing?

Plus, there would have to be the animation so you could display the magazine to your eyes. Personally, more trouble than its worth.

The idea has already been discussed and discarded.

2.86 should add the the 4 dot ammo indicator to the HUD so it will accomplish the same thing without all the hassles of programming and animating:)

They don't have to model the weapon over and over again, all it has to do is change the texture to reflext the stae of the magazine. Like the ammo counter on the standard UT weapons.

Exactly what I meant! A while back I looked into the code for the minigun and the relative simple code for the ammo display gave me the idea. But if it has been discussed and discarded... well, that's just too bad.
