The copy of UT I got came with Unrealed 2 and i can't for the life of me find a tutorial that shows you how to build your first room based on you having Ued2. All I've found revolved around Ued1 which I don't have. Is there a copy of Ued1 floating around on the net? I'll use that if I have to, I have no prob's with that. I just want to MAP!!!!!
I've played for a year now and it's way past due for me to give something back to everyone I've played with. Please, if anyone knows where I can get Ued1 or a new tutorial I will forever be in your debt.
THank you all!!!
Bubba.
PS - O.N.S. rocks!!!!

There isnt that much difference between Ued and Ued2. The look is different and the buttons are in a different place but they have the same pics on them or at least similar and they work the same.

I can find the textures no prob. But after finding the texture I want, the tutorials say to hit the subtract button. I haven't found a button for that. And so far I haven't figured out how to select just the floor or just the ceiling. Do I need to rotate the 3d view so that I'm clicking on the actual side I want to aply the texture to? So far when I look in the properties I see the same texture applied to the whole cube and not just the side I want it on.
Also, is the texture being applied to the inside wall of the box or is it applied to both sides on and in the cube?
I have yet to see a texture on my box so I'm sure I'm missing something regardless.
Thank you for everyone's time and help. Especially for your time!

I finally noticed the Brush menu. I clicked subtract and oh my, I think it may have worked. I will continue in my efforts to figure this stuff out. I will be back with more questions for sure.
Thank you all, I appreciate everyone's tips and help. I've learned alot from browsing through these forums.

I think Bitbasher has the best group of links to tutorials around. He's got damn near everything there, with a little description of each link so you know what kind of tuts to expect...
Go here (http://www.unrealcore.com/bitbasher/)
Oh and you should check out the disclaimer at the bottom of the page, I think it's funny as hell. But you better break out your reading glasses.... ;)
