I just thought it would be cool to have the choice of prone rolling, (along with prone leaning) so you could do a roll out of a corner, and then roll right back, which would be pretty quick I think, maybe you could double tap the lean button, and have the same type of deal as the dodging thing.

Ok, this has been suggested numerous times, the answer was:

Think of your enourmous backpack, can't roll with that thing...

Well. what if you can choose to take a very small backpack with you. If you use only a pistol or an mp5 with no other stuff like grenades or whatever you'll propably have a very small backpack and you can roll.

This might encourage some people to take less weapons with them. Rolling might be useful in maps like sicily.

Lol @ DarkBls.

sure. this is yet another truly ridiculous idea..... the point is that you basically never need this 'feature'. My example of sicily basically sums up all the possible maps to use such a skill.

I would like to see this once though. must be great fun to see a player roll from left to right :)

That army guy that did his big ole review thing that, yes, you can roll with a backpack.

Granted the backpack should be removed from the model. If you store your weapons in your backpack then the time to switch weapons is way the **** off. And since i only carry a sig and de i will never use a backpack. The only players that would need a backpack are the morons, and there are plenty of you, that carry 2 or 3 smgs in your loadouts. Even then, don't guns have straps? I don't see any use in a backpack what so ever. We aren't backpacking in the woods. We don't carry shoes or a change of cloths. We don't have a water canteen or food.

I think this would be a neat thing to put in, as long as the screen did a big ole circle too. If the screen just stays normal then don't put it in because that is dumb. Just set it to dodge while prone. Or even dodge while crouched would do a roll too, back into crouch. I'm talking side to side, forwards and backwords would be too wierd for me.

If we ever have to carry explosives or other special gizmos (like ammos for a machine gun) that don't fit well in pockets and bandoliers, then we would have real use for backpack...

I agree w/browncow on this issue here... also, if you're wearing a jacket, then it can fit ammo, grenades, etc. I like your idea about crouch rolling and the rotation of the screen, that would be cool.

That pack is huge with a full load. You would need to drop it before you could roll. Not that this has much bearing on gameplay, as the ALICE pack the INF dudes wear is merely aesthetic.

However, rolling with just your deuce gear on (that would be your LBV, 2 canteens, 2 magazine poutches, first aid kit, and bayonet) plus your flak jacket and the kevlar that covers your grape AND your rifle, takes a lot of wind out of you. I would say it would cost just as much as diving into prone.
