I think that the little red part in the ACOG and the Yellow reticle in the PSG-1 should stay lit up when you're in the dark like the red dot on the MP5 aimpoint. Since they are supposed to be illuminated, aren't they?

The ACOG must have light on it to get the red dot, doesn't it? And I think that is like in RL.

Thats right.

The ACOG 4x and P90's opticals are light sensitive.

For the ACOG's red area to be visible, a certain amount of light must be entering the scope.

The P90 is similar, but has 2 reticules, which one you see depends on light.

// light for the PSG-1 recticle :
There is a key (it's the same one you use to alter the zoom on the Robar) in Inf which turns on the 'light' (ie makes it 'yellow') for that part of the scope.

//
:) I didn't know the ACOG(s) in Inf were supposed to do that too, I thought is was some kind of bug ... :rolleyes: :D :cool:

Alright, I was unsure about the ACOG, but the PSG-1 reticle(the yellow one you get by pressing the weapon mode button) turns black when you're in the dark, and it is supposed to stay lit up. It's really hard to snipe a target on a dark background from a dark place when you can't see the crosshairs.

All ACOG's have tritium self-illuminating crosshairs. Some ACOG's have fiber-optic light-pipes on the top of the scope. Usually the rangefinder crosshair models like the one in INF don't have light-pipes. The models with glowing dots, rings, and triangles do.

They should all work in pitch dark, but the tritium illumination is calibrated for night use, so it doesn't disrurb dark-adapted eyes. It's pretty faint.

Hey DarkBls, process a request that the PSG-1 Yellow reticle should stay lit up when you're in the dark. The red part of the ACOG would be nice too, but I don't know if it should be.

The PSG-1 is lit up in dark if you turn it on (at least at my comp) and the ACOG have to be in a illuminated area to get the red sight showing (like in RL)

Your PSG-1 lights up in total blackness? Perhaps my Inf is broken...

I will try switching video modes.

Edit: Nope, doesn't matter. OpenGL or D3D. If I go into total darkness and try to light up my PSG scope it stays black, but it turns yellow when I walk into the light.

Yeah I see the same thing Antedeluge (Ark Builder to me :)) sees. Though I think it may be intentional. If the PSG's reticle is lit by ambient light in RL, then in RL it would probably stay dark if you were in pitch-black yourself.
