Considering everything else the team wants to do right now this is probably an impractical idea considering the work that would be involved. But anyway at some point in the distant future it would be nice to have some training missions as part of the game to run people through the basics of INF and some that really focus on the basic principles of teamwork.

I am doing just that. I am working on DM-INF-TrainingGrounds, teaches tactics for working in teams and such.

How are you planning to teach about teamwork using bots?
I hope I will be getting dsl my area soon so I can play online. Until then, I am stuck with bots, and they suck!

Unreal Tournament got some nifty training , with voice , text, scripts ...

Exactly most games do and I was thinking maybe, just maybe if you plant the idea in peoples heads that INF is a team game the first few times they play it we might see more teamwork online.

Its not for use with bots. Its made for people to play online together.

But online isn't the place to learn the basics of INF. So someone should make a training map for the real newcomers aswell

but make sure there is a big voice saying: "Good Job Private! you managed to :::insert accomplisment here:::"
That would be cool. make it teach the basics of:
Moving & running
jumping
Croutch & prone
Grab key doors
Shooting Pistols
Shooting SMGs
Shooting Carbines
Shooting Rifles
Grenade training (including 40mm)
How to clear a room with a teammate
How to clear a room allone
How to snipe
How to take care of a TKer
I think that this would make an awesome training ground.

oh... and also how to use a mounted flashlight for dark areas.
and how to sneak around enimy bots.
something like the trainig ground for Halflife. only more realistic

My training map is meant for team tactics, and geared towards advanaced players. I'm basically making a map that lets you test tactics from Inf Tactics, which is geared towards expert players, so it won't be good for new players. Unless of course a bunch of new players got together online and played it, or someone wanted to show a new player the moves.

I were thinking of something like BlueSniper suggested... But that is of course to beginners. RougeLeader's map will be for advanced player / clan training. Both good ideas IMO.
