View Full Version : Mapmaking for the UT Demo

I saw over on PlanetUnreal that unrealed and mod's will work with the UT demo, the demo is only stripped of maps, weapons and textures.
Is it possible to make an Infiltration version for the demo? For those of us that are poor students...

I think he was referring to the legal demo of UT... I think it'd be itneresting to see a mod coem out for it, to an extent. The demo will contain all of the UT bot code, which would make Infiltration bots COMPLETELY kick ass! The code wouldn't be too hard to port, but for the maps...you'd either need to create new ones using custom or UT demo textures, or modify existing ones to do the same. The bots could be great tho /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Well um I was refering to the fact that the likelyhood of me buying a copy of UT will be pretty low, hence my warez comment.

I'm currently weighting the pro and cons of purchase UT: more INF, money spent, UT with movement and weapons I don't like, but with gametypes INF really miss (assault and domination).
This solves the trouble, and maybe I will like UT enough to get the whole thing later (GeForce 256 first). /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

It's a no-brainer, I have played UT quite a bit, ALL legally, and I am definently going to purchase a copy when it comes out. The versions that got warezed out are complete and total crap compared to the newest builds. If INF had support for Assault...I'm drooling at the thought...
A cut down version of INF would work so well as a mutator that it really should be the first version worked on after the Demo is released. Maybe just the weapons and equipment, so that until 3.0 is done it can keep us happy.

We're looking at that in fact! Porting over 2.5 to UT until we can get 3.0 out is a good idea. If we do it, it'll be for the full version of UT and not the demo since according to Epic, the full version should follow the demo very quickly.. hmmm...
