What the Hell??!?!??!?

This cant be possible...unreal tournament is like butter on my system. BUT when i try to play regular unreal with the latest 225patch some major problems erupt....in OpenGl the performance is total **** and D3d the performance is semi decent BUT my menu system is all screwed up.....the words are there but there are letters missing from them...also network play has gone to total ****...On a cable modem i get 200 ping times when in ut i can get 124 i remember i used to get ping times on a 56k modem that were around 250............what the HELL! i have heard that this new 225 patch is **** but I mean it totally screwed up my unreal........performance is toally half assed.......my friend gets better performance on his p200 on a voodoo2........system is as follows...should i just reinstall unreal and run version 224....will it be compatible with 225?

System is at follows

P3 450mhz
128mb Pc-100 Ram
13.5 Gb Udma66 Western Digital Drive
3com US Robotics Cable Modem
Riva TNT2 32mb
Windows 98se
Aureal Vortex 2 Based card..............


PLEASE HELP!!!!! any tweak or something to that extent would be very helpfull.......thanks(maybe i should try using the renerer form ut....but I heard that hasnt changed since the original unreal release

Get 224. It's not so badly broken, single player works properly, and it's fine connecting to 225 servers.

Unreal Tournament is ahead of Unreal as far as the engine goes. Therefore, Unreal Tournament is much better in speed than Unreal. Too bad they probably won't update Unreal with a UT engine.
