Canada is waaaay too expensive, and socialized medicine is a crappy idea IMO, you have a f'ed up quasi-democracy that focuses on keeping Quebec from seceding rather than making Canada the superb country it has the potentialto be.

Then there is America, inflation is rising quickly, interest rates are going up, HMO's are the single stupidest idea ever formed in a thinking person's brain, Clinton is not only a traitor, but a complete idiot, if it wasn't for his timely(hah!) statements on the human genome, the stock markets would be in the black still; and like you guys, we have a quasi-democracy that focuses on pleasing minorities and lobbyist groups, rather than making America the superb country it has the potential to be.

About, quebec! tell me it sucks! I live in quebec city and I have to live it every day...

The gov of quebec is putting more $ in "la préservation de la langue français" than in our university and every two weeks or so someone of our gov comes out to talk about spending billions on the separation...

For me this is only a big pile of Crap! In Quebec there is no econnomy, no industry, no future if with leave Canada...

Since my most of my family is German and lives there, I know quite well how separation si a dumm thing to do! Even if here the context is quite diffrent, it's still a dumm thing to do.

long live Canada!

Well, Canada's an awesome socialist state. If anybody tells you that Canada is not an autonomous socialist republic under the guise of an empirial dominion is full of ****.

As for the medical attention, I think its superb. I can't think of one medical procedure I have needed to pay for, ever, in 19 years.

As for that french language stuff, thats just plain nuts. People wonder why everybody hates Quebec, well take a look. They're trying to break apart a nice, beautiful country that has everything to offer. French people will still speak french. English people will still speak english. Bilingual (like me) will always be bilingual, so whats the big deal? They're wasting money enforcing culture instead of preserving it and that gestapo **** is really starting to piss me off. If quebec ever splits I'll just lead an army faction over there to take it back lickity split, and break it up between Ontario and Newfoundland Labrador.

I like it here, though. One of the most industrialized countries in the world, the definitive leader in communications technology (this even goes back to the telephone and telegraph hill), heavy nuclear advancements without needing to result to nuclear deterents, a lovely land force (stretching from Vimy Ridge right up to Kosovo,) and hockey.

God I love my country.

Well, I've only briefly visited Toronto. So I don't know what kind of country-wide interpretation I should take from that single visit. But I really liked Toronto. I thought it was a pretty cool town.

Bad.Mojo

Toronto's nice, sorta like New York with less people that smell like urine, I guess. Vancouver, British Columbia would be the place to be though. Pot and rebels up the ass. My kinda town.

The thing that stuck with me about Toronto, was how clean everything was. Everything had this new, clean feel to it. It was nice. It's like New York in that it has a subway system, but after that, I'd say the comparison ends. It's too clean there to compare it to NY.

I since then visited Chicago, and it felt like a dump in comparison. Chi-town was cool though, just dirtier and slummier, if you know what I mean. Huge city though. I mean huge. Growing up a country boy, it's hard to imagine that much city, until you see it from top the Sears Tower.

I live in Houston now, and the population around here is large and in charge, but it doesn't have that huge city feel to it, like Chi-town. In the suburbs down here, you still have that country feel. In Chicago, it seemed like country no longer existed. Never been to New York, but I see enough of it on TV to know that it has a similar feel to it.

I love my country, but I hate my government. When they start respecting me and my right to do and own what I want (namely firearms), and understand it's NOT their business to dictate to me how responsible I am, they'll get some respect back.

To finish, let me quote a phrase I've seen on many T-shirts and bumper stickers around here:

"CANADA KICKS ASS!"

Deep fried beaver tails!

Bad.Mojo

They have Beaver Tails in the States too, they just a) don't know how to make them and b) call them "fried dough".

Fried dough? Who the hell wants to eat fried dough? I want to eat fried dough as much as I want daily visits to a proctologist. Maybe he can pull the fried dough out while he's up in there.
