Post what you think of the "real world"(not the MTV show) in one sentence or less. Hence the title of the topic.

Post what YOU think, so dont even look at the rest of the thread before posting.

This is really just to see what people think, feel free to post in response if you want to, cause i couldnt do shit to stop you anyways.

The world is crap, people. You fucking people blind yourselves to the truth because living a sheltered lie is easier. You hide your heads in the ground like those cartoon ostriches and pretend nothing exists, just ignore everything and it should go away. Look around you, this place is crap, and we make it crap by accepting it. We teach ourselves to believe the lies and to let ourselves be controlled down to the littlest aspects like how much water we can pump through the toilet per flush or just what kinds of firearms we can keep in our house and how, to protect our families.

We do it because it gives us a false sense of security in an insecure world. With all the murders, rapes, and other crimes against people every day, with all the disease, famine, and human suffering, with all the war, and fighting, and outbreaks of violence, we convince ourselves that the police, hospitals, the soldiers or the rebels or the family doctors or the neighbour or our families will somehow work miracles, but since everything happens to somebody else anyways, you should never need to worry about that, right?

And don't know how you people stand to live in so much fear, in fear of retribution. How many of you have told me you wish you could do what I do? Plenty of you. And yet you don't. Why? What I do isn't anything special, I just say what I feel and think, and I'm honest and pure about it, no bullshit, no veils or cloaks. Just the right to know and the right to say it. Yet I believe you all of some deep rooted fear of authority, fear of defiance, fear of the use of the question or even fear of what the answer will be. You construct borders and create rules and guidelines for yourselves based on these senseless fears.

Why not, for once, wake up, open your eyes, and just say what you truly feel? Tell your boss to fuck himself, tell your teacher to go to hell. Tell your neighbour to suck your dick, if that's what you wanna do. But fight for who you are, fight for your individuality, and fucking for once have the guts to stand up and have a voice, because the world isn't just going to better itself, and as it stands, the only people with a voice now are the corrupt ones. Change that.

Eh, sounds like a revolution. I don't like people so I avoid them whenever possible. I take the least travelled roads. I like things most people don't. I don't like things most people do. I like to be an individual, but I don't like to stand out. I always take the middle ground, because the more extreme you try to be the more flak you get. The only place you should only try to stand out is through the workplace, in order to get a better job and a more comfortable life. And even then don't stand out too much, or they'll make you management or pile all the shit on you because you're "so fucking good". Be good, but be good in a quiet way, be good in a non-descript way. Don't flaunt yourself or hype yourself or give anyone false expectations of what you can or should do. That's my credo.

I'm glad to see two people(or one, depends) didnt read the post and said what they wanted. Personnally, i dont think life is shit. Life is, in a way, so incredibly variable and different for different people, that it is really hard to make a short statment that satisfies all, or even most, areas of our lives.

For instance, Bad.Mojo said "shit". Well, as there were no specifications or clarifications as to whether it was his life, or life in general, one would naturally assume life in general. While life in general, is as will always be, "shit". There is simply no way to make life taken in such a way be deemed as good. Bad things always stand out to those who look for them, while good things stand out to people who look for good.

As i see it, life is full of opportunities for different things to happen. As it is shown here, Bad.Mojo has a very different view than me, in that he believes that the world is so full of shit ignorance and denial(same thing?), that he must stand out to help them in some way. How he goes about doing that for real is beyond me. Whatever it is, i hope to hear about it.

I think thats about it for now, btw, thanks for posting.

Maybe I should expound on my earlier post. (after looking at it it looked like it was just agreeing with a previous post)

The universe exists, that's it. It neither exists to make your life shit or to make it gold, it just exists.

The hole sum of existance is to survive it and learn from it, and to be a part of it. Mostly to glean what bits of joy you can (and you don't usualy get any unless you try)

Maybe this means that there is no meaning to existance, but existance is it's own meaning.

I dunno, maybe Suicidal Tendencies said it best...

"So you say life sucks? Well 99% of it is what you make of it, so if your life sucks; You suck!"

(now I think I'm gonna name one of the bots "Captain Stupid" just so I can run around playing that song and trying to kill him, listen to the song and you'll know what I mean)

My philosophy is that your life is completely dictated and influenced by the actions of others. They lead you to the forks in the road, they drag you to them at their pace, and ultimately the only choice you have is which fork you take. Then they start dragging you along, through mud, dirt, rain, over cliffs, under water, not caring whether you get bruised or battered, until the point comes where you select the actions you take based on the experiences other people gave you. There is no free will, only influenced choice. And that is why life is shit. You don't suck if your life sucks, your life is what others make it. They, therefore, suck. And to believe otherwise is stupid.

My 2 cents...

Sounds like Mojo needs some career counseling! /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Well, here's my take on this subject:

Life and the world are far from perfect. No question about that. But look at it in perspective. Take a step back and look at the big picture that is drawn by human history, the unmistakeable trend line that our history follows. Life is tough, for sure, but it gets better.

If you were to pluck any man from the year 1000, and put him in any but a few places on Earth today, he'd see a place far, far better than any he'd seen before. Things that were common once upon a time are considered horrors today. Things that were once the stuff of fairy tales and fantasies are commonplace now.

For sure, we have a long way to go before we can say the world is perfect, or even mostly good. Modern humans have only been around a few dozen millennia; a blink in the eye of our planet's history. We're a work in progress. Where we are now is better than where we once were. Where we're going is better than any place we know now.

I completely agree with the one who said earlier in this thread that the world is what we make of it. It takes blood, sweat, and tears to create something worthwhile. Life isn't easy. Nothing in it is free. But you can work to make something great. Or you can give up and live with shit forever.

Hmm, maybe I should run for office or something... /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

i think bad.mojo was the real life inspiration for tyler durden, or hes just seen fightclub too many times,

seriously tho, mojo is one of few "free thinkers" i'd like to say i'm one myself, i try to be but meh, anyway, he doesn't need counselling, evryone else does

on the note of tyler durden, if you haven't seen fight club, go see it, listen carefully to evrything that comes from tyler's mouth, most of it should be taken from gospel, of course though, its probly not wise to reverse tyre spikes, threaten to cut ppls balls off and blow shit up, but aside from that, listen to the man, do what he says, its normally true and very usefull

i dont think life is what other people make of it, i think life is what we allow other people to mkae it, when you watch tv and scream at it because some wanker in a suit just told you that your now paying more tax, your letting him piss you off

when you get into fight, your letting someone make you do it. I agree that life is what others make it, just not in the same context as mojo, life is what other people make it, but only because we let them and we're too stupid (or scared) to stop them. i think we're all just scared of having to stand on our own two feet, i personally make a point of doing what i feel, its landed me in deep shit most of the time (i've been expelled from 3 different schools) but for those few moments before they scream at you, its bliss, and for those many hours after when you can laugh at them because they've just realised theres really nothing they can do to fuck you around, its AWESOME, and if u wanna quote musicians, i'll quote eminem

"fuck that!, Rape sluts, take drugs, make fun of gay clubs, men who wear make up, its your life live it how u wanna"

Yeah, insulting blacks, gays, jews, indians, pakistanis, mexicans and all that is evil, but hell, let's just forget to mention the racially motivated slaughter of white-minority farmers in africa.
