Any you kids tried this little progie
http://webpages.charter.net/bizman6/UTAmp/

I downloaded it but I'm only running 413 and it requires 420 (and my UT CD is at work, so I'll have to wait till tomorrow to upgrade it).

I'm wondering if anyone here has tried it and what they thought.

I wonder if it'll play .mp3 files too, I know the sound engine for UT (I don't remember what it's called) should support .mp3 so I wonder if this thing will.

Plus, I went ahead and downloaded 428, will this cause any problems with INF? (The main reason I've stuck with 413 for so long is basically, if it ain't broke don't fix it)

Well the upgrade to 428 was painless.

this UTAmp thing is cool, it lets you pick which music track you want to listen to or which CD track.

Hopefuly in future versions there will be mp3 support. According to Epic the galaxy engine (that's the name for the sound engine) will support mp3 (says so here http://unreal.epicgames.com/music.htm )

Sounds good, But doesn't the CD playing slow down your computer? While playing INF?

I haven't noticed any slowdown playing CDs (450mhz PIII w/128M & Voodoo3 3000 AGP)

I wonder if playing mp3s would cause some slowdown. I have just left Sonique running and gone into UT without any real slowdown that I could tell (other then when changing songs) and Sonique is about the biggest resource hog of an mp3 player, I imagine it would be better to use Kjofol or WinAmp (there are some super thin mp3 players out there too)
