Any you kids gotten your grubby hands on Mauser's new Pistol, the M2.

I've read a couple of articles about it (and looked over the info on both the Mauser and Sig sites) but I'd like to hear from someone who has fired one.

It sounds like an interesting pistol, and may bump the HK USP .45 down my list a notch (I'm looking to purchase in the next 6mo)

Right now, the Kimber UltraCarry .45 is on the top of my list (either it or the Kimber ultraCDP, or the compact versions of either model) but the Kimbers are pricey (around $800 for the Ultracarry and over $1000 for the CDP). Second on my list is the HP USP .45 (around $600) but the new Mauser's MSRP is US$479

Here's some links

9 pounds every shot a bit too heavy for my liking. Reminds me of a Kel-Tec.

true, I'd still like to get my hands on a broomhandle Mauser, but it's not a very good carry weapon /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Also, as for the trigger pull, I think that could be adjusted out by a good gunsmith for very little $$. The thing that got my attention was the price, if it's as good a weapon as one would expect from the Mauser name then $479 is a hell of a bargin (a similar Sig or HK is $100 more, and to go with a Kimber is really out of my budget)

ahh yes the old Mauser broomhandles. Those and Lugars are some of the finest weapons from the century past. Hell both are great guns even by modern standards. Both had great safty features, mauser the trigger lock, lugars the wierd loading mechanism on the back to show you that it isn't loaded. And both very accurate more the lugar with the perfect handle angle. perfect aim everytime. such memories of my youth /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

If it's .45 you wan't, your best option is USP. If you're looking for a bargain .45 auto, you could go for a Taurus. The best concealable .45 is still the Glock(cant remember model number).
