Well, let's see if I can help... Gore is a freaking moron. He lies(/misconstrues), takes credit for other people's work, seems to be passionate about issues he knows nothing about, and has made at least 2 promises/threats about passing laws that IMHO would be very bad for America.
Bush I don't know that much about, but I do know he's better than Gore, but has problems of his own and isn't America's best choice. Unfortunately, America's best choice doesn't have enough money/funding to win, so I guess voting for Bush so that Gore won't win wouldn't be that bad of an idea.

Hmmm, not necessarily, the circle of a country's revolutions does not always take stops off at anarchy, you can just replace the old tyrannical government with your own fair one (for the people, by the people, and all that good stuff), so that you aren't at the mercy of mere street gangs and other attacking countries, and can actually accomplish things as a society.

Maybe I'm over generalizing here but please forgive me for that: It appears as if Bush is an un-educated moron who favours air-strikes against countries whos names are hard to pronounce. Meanwhile, Gore has chosen a VP who'd probably faint if he heard a curse word...

I think you're falling for the stereotype that anyone with a southern drawl is stupid, so I think you've single handedly insulted an entire state /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Although it's kinda funny, last election I pissed off some of Nader's people. At the time I owned a 1963 Corvair, so I contacted Nader's people and got them to send me a bumper sticker (I enjoy the ironic humor, it looked real funny on my corvair) so they called me a week or so later and I told them I was not planning on voting for Nadar but that I had a Corvair...yadda yadda...snicker snicker.

Zund: If what I've heard is correct, Arpaio is a nut that takes being tough on crime WAY too far... not allowing prisoners into the library to do research their incompetent court-appointed attourny won't do is going too far.
I think alot of what he says and does makes sense, and he does get the job done. For all you non-Arizonians out there, stats that Pima County (much less harsh on crime than Maricopa, Arpaio's county) has the same crime rates don't mean anything- Pheonix is BY FAR the biggest city in AZ, and I am truly amazed that their crime rate is not MUCH higher. The rest of the country could definately learn something from him- once convicted, criminal's lives should be that bad, but someone that still has a chance to prove their innocence shouldn't be denied that.

We don't get many details about Arpaio outside of AZ, so he may very well be a nut.
As for Liberatarianism, I've always refered to myself as a Republican with a wide Liberatarian streak.
Frankly, I think the Republican party should move closer to the libertarians.
I do wish some republicans would quit trying to promote censorship (especialy the senator I voted for). This is really the only area I tend to part company with the Republican Party (there may be others but off the top of my head...)

I am a german, so from my side is gore the better alternative... because I don´t think Bush is good for the mankind outside US... I don´t like this talks about big and strong america his speeches are do agressive in my opinion, he reminds me of the reagan ages woohoo hope something like this will never come over us!

I've aired my views on this topic here before, so here's another perspective - my wifes:
This time round she's voting Republican. She's doing so because (1) our 2nd Amendment rights are at stake and (2) Gore acted like a high-school debater in last night's conference.
If it weren't for the gun rights, she'd vote Libertarian, because that covers her pro-choice beliefs also.

Sorry, sorry!!! I didn't mean to insult anyone, and certainly not an entire state... I had no idea he was from the south, nor did I know he was a Texas Guvenor, the thing about "air-strikes aginst countries whos names are hard to pronounce" was borrowed from a Dilbert book... BUT I remember reading something about Bush having pretty limited geography knowledge...
