Well, I'm gonna be offline for most of the weekend. The wife and I are heading out early tomorrow morning and driving to Colorado Springs, where I will be interviewing for a new job!
I'm not gonna jinx it by saying where (but in a weird way JB would probably be the most excited about who I'd be working for)
Anyway, Ifn I get the job, I'll probably be away from the forum for as long as a month (what with moving from Wichita, KS to Colorado Springs and having to sell a house, buy a house, get a new ISP and all that).
I hope to GOD I can get cable or DSL there (if I have to go back to dial up I'll just DIE)
Well wish me luck. I'll give a full report on Sunday or Monday.
Mojo, don't kill anybody while I'm gone (I wanna watch) /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Well I'm back, and it was a nice little trip.
It's about a 9 hour drive from where I am to Colorado Springs, so I'm tired of driving /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
The interview friday went well, but unfortinatly I didn't get an offer from them yet. The person who makes the decision was unable to make the meeting, so they're going to get back to me.
I'm about 90% sure they will offer me the job (with acceptable compensation) but I'm not sure I want the job.
The company puts out 3 catalogs, they sell aftermarket and performance parts for Air cooled VWs, Water cooled VWs and BMWs. Catalogs are not the most interesting or challenging design projects (at least not from a creative standpoint) but I think they may want me for web work too, but again it's basicaly a 1 note symphony, and the look for all their stuff has been established.
However, the environment is real cool! Many of the people there are gearheads, and not just any gearheads, but german car gearheads (I fall into that category, for those who don't know, my nick is the German word for "Firing Order") The owner of the company races a tricked out '88 BMW M3, and several of the employees are into racing and restoring (Colorado Springs is a real big racing town).
Plus the area is beautiful! My wife and I drove all over the area, and found several areas we'd love to live in (and can afford too!).
The company is located in Woodland Park, CO and is about 20 miles west of Colorado Springs on US24 (which is a nice twisty devided 4 lane that I can't wait to get my Porsche on).
Anyway, I'm going to have to do some serious thinking about this (assuming I'm offered the job). I desperatly want to get away from the city I live in (I've lived here for 31 years, and I'm only 31 years old. I figured I did everything there is to do here by 5) but I don't want to take a job that I'll grow to hate (I've done that too many times).

Nope... the BMA is always open to new members.
Oh, and when we get the webpage up, feel free to download the doctrines, print them out, pass them around, and tell people to photocopy them and pass them around if they're interested too. Word of mouth is powerful, and anybody interested should know about.
Point out they'll get stickers. I've gotten a few people in town to join that way...
