Curses...

If only I was small enough to fit in the damn thing, and had the money...

I nearly wet my pants when I saw that car... That thing is a piece of art. Porsche never ceases to amaze me (and the E is not silent, dammit!!!).

You don't like it GF? Ok, that's fine I had an extra one I was gonna give you, I guess I'll have to find someone else who wants it :p

As for the change in the 911 to *gasp* water cooled engines, you can thank environmentalists for that one. Frankly I like the extra power the 996 puts out, but as a Porsche Purist I'm conflicted (I'm also one of those Porschephiles that hates 924, 944, 928, and the newest abomonation the 968, the engine should be midship or behind the transaxle as far as I'm concerned)

Since the motorsports division spent their time and money developing the Carrera GT they skipped LeMans 2000 (which I was angry about, but it looks like they redeemed themselves)

but this may be unforgivable...

my dad used to have an '86 porsche 944 turbo. he got for 5,000 which isn't a bad deal but he sunk another 5 just to get it to purr. he sold it for i think 12000 after we did some custom repairs like rebuilding the engine and redoing the interior. i never really cared for the car but now at least i get to say we owned a porsche. but last time i talked to my dad he says hes actually looking into buyin and 84 porsche 911 turbo from a used car dealership. it has 85,000 miles on it and is quite a pretty car if you ask me. the guy who owned it before redid the engine and added bout 50 more ponies. i forgot how much theyre asking but good lord it would be nice... :)

but i could really care less about porches(yes i know, you can beat me later guys) im more of a volkswagen bus man :D :D :D

but if i were to get a porsche i would definately get a 1955 porsche spyder...ooooooohohhhhhohhoohohohhoho lordy lordy lordy, thats a sweet ride if you ask me. even almost nicer than the bus!

Good luck on the 550, if you ever find one for sale expect to spend a he11 of a lot more then the $300,000 of the new Carrera GT (think 7 figures) but I agree the 550 would be a prize. I'd rather spend $25,000 and build a replica though (just because the real thing would be to valuable to risk driving on the street).

Of course a nice 356 would be cool.

What did you find out about the bus you were going to test drive?

oh yeah ,the bus i was gonna test drive....well you see i was gonna go test drive it but the only problem is....well, DRIVING the bus wasn't an option...you see it sorta didn't have an engine, which is kinda necessary for a car to run...ya know? oh well...maybe next time. reminds me...its been a week i should go check ebay again.

yeah, but if we're talking 916, I'll take the Porsche one, not the Ducati one (since there where only 11 916 Porsches, I could sell it, buy one of the Ruf or TechArt Boxsters and a handfull of Ducatis)

JB, this evening I saw an older bus for sale (wasn't a 21 or 23 window, but it did have safari windows) it looked to be in running condition (since it was in the mall parking lot, I suspect they drove it) anyway the sign said $1200 and I didn't see any serious cancer (of course I didn't crawl under it) Sounds like a killer deal. Only 2 problems 1. I didn't write down the phone number. 2.It would cost you more then what the bus cost to have it shipped back east (I'm in Kansas)

Oh yeah, Dolce, when you come down next weekend I will NOT show you the bus. For christ's sake you don't need to be buying any more vehicles :p

Mojo, Pontiac or Ferrari? (I'm assuming Pontiac)

In Highschool a friend of mine had a pretty bad GTO, it was a 1969 with a 454 and 2 Holley 750 double pumpers on it. We used to skip class and drive around the parking lot poping wheelies :)

I got my start with muscle cars, in Highschool I had a 1969 Mustang Fastback (that I later sold back to my Dad and Dolce916 properly trashed it  )

Dood, you drove the 'Stang for several months, and ran the thing out of oil several times. I borrow the car for an afternoon and the motor blows. I think it was YOU who set the motor up to die.

lets move these family arguments to ICQ

look, you're all wrong.

there are only two vehicles that anyone will ever need to own.

Ducatti 996 SP. Shame u can't buy them in Australia due to the hi beam and lo beam being in two different housings. (yes, thats the only reason, miss out on all that beautiful bike, coz of a ****in headlight, so you can only buy the Strada)

And a Holden HSV GTS. Nice big V8 :D

Edit: I made a mistake, you can buy the 996SP out here, but the headlights been redone, so it looks a bit different from the european model.

well just wait till we are online. It WILL be war then ;)

true I would love to have a 996SP
however there is another to add and that is the Supermono. yes its old (93) and yes its a single. but its also one of the sexiest bikes out there.
Of course I just saw an MV Augusta F4 in person this weekend. OOOOooo GOD is it gorgeous!!!

btw the US model 916/996's have the same headlight setup at europe (high on one side low on the other)
Can't tell you how many times people would say "dude you have a headlight out"

Keep the rubber side down.
