I am finally getting accustomed to using Unreal ED for creating maps. What I want to know is if I should upgrade to UED 2.0? Most of what I have heard about it is bad. Let me know if you think I should upgrade or not, and why.

Judge for yourself. Make a backup of your system folder with UED1 installed and then upgrade to UED2. If you don't like UED2 you can still run UED1 from your backup folder. You will most likely come across the common 'ini:engine.engine.blahblah in configuration file error, but if you look through the post you will also find a solution for this. Otherwise contact me.

OK, that is one person's advice, any others?

Where can I find Ued2? Didn't find it at PlanetUnreals Files section.

No, don't. Ued1 might be experimental, but better. Ued to is more refined w/ fewer options for say the 2d editor which is big for me. I tried going back to ued1 and lost everything I had and still havent gotten UT back installed.

What have you been hearing that's bad!?
Firstly, some 2d shape editor features are gone, but you can get the same results using the vertex editing.
This tool is amazing!
You just hold alt and drag the point you have selected where you want it.
This combines with the terran builder, which is a grid of however many by however many squares. You can drag all the points up down and all around and have a nice hilly smooth terrain in just 10 mins!

It also renders faster and shows you a better progress report on how it's going. Path building also now shows a progress report telling you exactly how many nodes it needs to connect, and how many it's done.

This is a must!

Thanks for the input everyone. I decided to go ahead and install and use the new editor. So far, I am happy that I did. Just a personal preference, but I like the fact that it now tells you which button is which, so no more intersecting when I want to de-intersect :)
