Anyone have any idea what the idea running temp of this new chip is? I have one, all installed, running well, and the board is telling me it is running at around 186 degress (f). THis seems awfully high to me. AMD's site is woefully short on info about this little question.

Any help will be rewarded with a full working online version of Infiltration. (hehe)

The Athlon 1GHz should run at about 60 deg. Celcius. That is with standard cooling. If you just use normal heat sinks and fans, you will overheat probably and in about 2 seconds your motherboard is mush.

Look at something like this:

Take a look here to find out more about it.

I should have noted that the CPU is the new Thunderbird form-factor. (No longer slotted, but back to a ZIF socketed form-factor.) I hear that it runs much hotter with this config...and I have had no problems at all....other than I just want to make sure I am good. I have this HUGE turbine heatsink / fan assembly on the chip, (supposedly the best there is), and two big case fans for air flow. Any one else out there who can confirm this for me? I am still around 186 F and I guess about 85 C.
