what 3dfx card would I need to...

take advantage of Unreal Tournament's Extras disc, it says it can do like image and texture compression for better graphics. I dunno, I was bored and checked out the UT Disc 2 and found it... my Voodoo 3 doesn't support it so what does?

You guys are stoned. The extra high res textures only work with the S3 Savage stuff, or a GL running G-Force card. (Runs like a dream on mine by the way.) The 3dfx cards are simply not able to use them.

You need a card that supports S3TC,like most nVidia cards,some ATI,$hit like that. Get a GeForce,believe me,it's much more than worth the difference. :cool:

Sigs get bigger and bigger. Sure if you want a high rez and beautiful flow, GeForce is the way to go. But I can use the Open GL with my Voodoo3 2000 it is choppy and I still use D3D. But it CAN work.

You won't believe this! I installed those high-res textures and it screwed up UT beyond all comprehension... it gave me like 10 errors saying it couldn't find texture files...!! Guess I'll hafta re-install :( :(

By the way - What kind of CPu do you need to use a Voodoo5?

I wouldn't say you need a special CPU, you need either a PCI (for the PCI card) slot, or a 2X AGP slot. I don't think there are minimum processor requirements. But if you are looking into one of them you are gonna dish out alot. They are pricey :rolleyes:
