Can't get killzone to kill!

What sort of sheet zone thing do i have to put to make it a kill zone a killzone?
I put a killzone info in the bottom of a pit and covered it with a sheet brush under special called zone portal. Why doesn't it work?

Set the DamagePerSecond attrib (or something) to some value.
