Yeah, I nicely asked an important question about whether or not someone named Mr Scruffy was on the team. This person would post stuff as if he was on the team but it would always get deleted without any explaination. I seemed to be the only one who noticed this, so I posted a topic and Opti kindly deleted it without any explaination of course. I got mad and posted another topic and it was deleted. I posted saying that I was leaving if my next post gets deleted and it was deleted. Then Alpha5 posted a thread to calm me down which lasted 10 posts and I had written a huge page long answer to 4 ppl about what happened and not even 3 minutes after, it was deleted. I post screaming and cursing at opti and it lasted a while b4 he noticed it and posted an arrogant response calling me immature. :rolleyes: He then proceeded to name what he consideres to be criteria for a deleted post. #1 was taking the lord's name in vain, something not all of us believe in so has no meaning to. Opti is against freedom or speech, freedom of religion and many other things so he can f.uck himself. Now you know why I call him Hitler-Opti. It's not even a joke anymore. I'm not ever gonna play SF again. The producer is probably the biggest ******* I have ever met in my life.

I've been wondering, why doesn't the INF team move these official Infiltration forums to another service, like ezboard for example (a pretty good service in my experience)? It would solve the problem of the unreliable infopop server, plus free us from this absurd censorship "feature" which keeps one from even typing the name "Charles D.ickens" straight.

I mean, why should we be subject to the anal-retentive foolishness of this Optimizer guy? And didn't the SF forums themselves move somewhere else already?

I really dont know what all the fuss is about guys...rules number 3 too 5 are perfectly understandable. As for 1 and 2, those are understandable too, on this forum bad language is sensored umless you type f.uck or any else cheap escape...And about using God's name in vein, well I NEVER have heard or read something like HOLY ALLAH (used as an insult that is). Only God's and Jesus's name are used as insults, so this is not hypocrytical, it's the plain truth.
I think it's allright to sensor the stuff, deleting the post is a bit harsh maybe, but than again, just watch what you're typing. You CAN make a point without using those words you know....it's really possible...

The infopop link has been bookmarked by lots of INF people and those that have taken a hiatus from the forum may not realize we have moved. Everyone is comfortably settled in here including the moderators.

Other than that, there's no reason not to move. I noticed that there isnt much censorship here on the INF side of the forums no more. Could be that those trolls have left or the censorship is so efficient even trolls cant get in here. I do remember that there was quite a bit of censorship tho.

Whatever you guys do, never, never, NEVER do trolling here in these forums. You'd get labeled and the stigmata will follow you always. Remember bomberman. Its actually too bad really, bomberman was quite a nice guy were it not for his trolls.

It's called freedom of speech. The Strike Force message board, despite what Optimizer might want you to believe, is a public meeting place. It's not Optimizer's private property. Comparing it to his house would be like me comparing a public park to my backyard. If he wants to lay down a couple rules, then that's fine with me, but he obviously has an ego problem if he considers himself to be the "owner" of the board. At most, he could be considered a temporary caretaker.

What really gets me is the fact that the swearing filter doesn't distinguish between legitimate words and curse words, so things that you wouldn't expect to get censored, like Charles ****enson, ****sapien, and ****roach, get censored, while legitimate curse words can easily bypass the filter simply by adding a ! in place of an i or a 0 on place of an o. If Optimizer wants to enable a swearing filter on his board, then that's his choice, but now every other board has to suffer because of it, and he doesn't seem to care.

What's more, his little weiner dogs are comparing Infiltration's "New weapon suggestions are generally disregarded" policy to his own "Do not take the Lord's name in vain, use foul language, or disagree with me in away way or your posts will be deleted" policy and saying that we're being hypocritical. News flash: There's a difference between getting flamed for suggesting weapons and deleting a 100-post thread simply because one person said "Oh my God".

Most of those words describe acts which the Christian Bible dictates to be "sins", and the few that don't, make no sense. In a way, censorship of these words could be described as religious persecution (why should everyone be forced to conform to the Christian ideals of what is and isn't appropriate?), and the very act of censoring them goes against our most basic freedoms (both of speech and religion).

Yeah Im desperado I had my fights and stuff like that on the site yeah the dude that Said BKs maps are bad:) I think your mostly right especially in the religion part. Optimizer and I hold the same religion but we do not hold the same rules:) I think optimizer is not doing the right thing by pissing off people like this. Im the lead mapper for SF and from me I say im sorry.. I hope you find some good fourms.. and some good Mods. If you want to come back(you guys seem a little pissed off I understand but if you do) Well cool!. Sad to see you go balli and other vets on the sf mod:( I am very sorry this has happend. I think in the religion part as a Christian It should not be our job to imposse a religion on others. I think it is wrong and should not be in public area. Im sad becuase of what has happend I should be becuase like you said with out a fan base than what will we have... Especially the vets.. Dang it f.uck sh.t M.o.ther f.uc.ker God dang it. hmm I said the gods name in vein Oh well:) God is my friend I pray to him Im sure something like this small will not affect me at all in the day I die. Like Opti and you I also believe in god. I never use swear the name of god, but however I do believe in freedom of speech.

I didn´t leave because of the swearing or religion , I left because of the closing of Off-Topic page. I thaught It would be an waste off time to write replys on the general forum, while the topics future is uncertain. My hard work writing could be closed or deleted and thats an waste of time for me.

Major. SF has never had a foum called Off Topic. I think you'll find its known on the SF site as "Not Related"


Fact1:
You CAN post pretty much anything you like in the "Not Related" (NR) forum.

Fact2:
The "General Discussion" (GD) forum is for the general discussion of Strike Force.

The problem was that there was a whole lot of bad stuff being posted recently on the GD fotum. Not only does this look real bad to any casual visitors to SF, but it also dilutes the genuinly interesting comments ppl have to say about our mod.
Perhaps some posts shouldn't have been deleted? but they were, and thats history now. In future they are more likely to just be moved to "NR". But I think you will find that if a topic is posted in the correct forum then it is unlikely to be touched by any moderator.
You can't tell me that some of the stuff that was posted would have been allowed to remain on ANY other mods main forum either.

You would never dream of coming to the Inf forum and posting some of those threads on their GD forum. Why should it be any different at ours?

As a moderator, I accept some responsability for this, since ppl have been pretty much allowed to get away with posting whatever they wanted in the GD. But if we decide in the future to ask you to stick to the correct one, would you have a problem with that?

We have been accused of being fascists, nazis, marxists, dictators, communists etc. ROFL, hardly. But you name it, and we've been called it.

However, Opti has never started a thread (to my knowledge) about religion, it has always been in response to something already posted. He feels strongly enough about it that he can't not participate in it. And thats fine by me. My personal opinion is, that religion however important to ppl, does NOT belong on the main discussion forum of ANY game site, and neither do offensive personal attacks.
